ame One of our guests in

attendance did not need

any introductions, we

were honored to have

Story by David Malkin Brian Turner started his presentation by stating:

There is no study course called, “Lawsuit pro-tection, 101″

15 – 20 million lawsuits filed each year – that’s an epidemic!

No one discusses how to protect ourselves against lawsuits

Brian believes that lawsuit protection should be taught in school

Brian quoted the Economist magazine in saying that one out of four Americans will be hit with a cata-strophic law suit

Brian Turner is an alumnus of the University of Illinois and he now lives in California. Brian Turner of American Lawsuit Protection Services, Inc. is a former businessman who for more than 20 years was the CEO and presi-dent of several companies that provided services for the life insurance industry. He’s been involved in numer-ous lawsuits both as a plaintiff and as a defendant. In his book he explains how a $20,000 nonbinding arbitra-tion award against him and his company unexpectedly and shockingly exploded into a $2 million judgment! He studied and researched the law extensively for the past 20 years. His conclusion is that everybody living in the United States today is highly vulnerable to a lawsuit that could easily wipe him or her out because of unpre-dictable jury verdicts and corruption in our legal system. His recommendation is that everyone must take pro-active steps to protect themselves against lawsuits and to protect all of their assets. All of this information is explained in a simple step-by-step approach in his book. In his book Brian said you will learn:

The best ways to protect against lawsuits.

Learn the secrets that lawyers charge thousands of dollars for.

Learn how a simple child's trust can save you thousands of dollars each year in taxes.

Learn a little-known way to pay no taxes on stock profits --- 100% legal!

Learn how to protect your home from foreclosure.

Learn how to protect your home from creditors.

Learn how to secretly and legally hide your money.

Learn easy ways to make yourself judgment proof.

Plus learn many more lawsuit and asset protection secrets. You can obtain Brian’s book at: www.HowtoKillaLawsuit.com and Amazon

what happens tomorrow? Idioms and phrases advise us to take advantage of ‘and make good use of every day; that every single day should be special — not just a few. But, we all know that’s not humanely realistic. We all have our off days, when things don’t work out, when we fight and are unhappy. So, why let go of the few days that can be turned special, simply because we refuse to go along with convention that dictates the same? This year, my friends planned a big surprise for me. I never saw it coming. I also received many gifts — even from people who had moved to a different city. It made me feel very special. These were the people whose lives I had touched at some point in life. And in doing so, they deeply touched mine. However, there were also moments when I was painfully aware of those I had left behind on my journey forward. Their absence was felt. These were the people who once held a special place in my daily life. They had once cele-brated the very same day with much aplomb. Life happened. It is sad, yes. But I look back on those moments with happy nostalgia. I am thankful that at the excuse of my birthday, I expressed the importance of their presence in my life, and vice versa. I now know, at that moment in time, I had mattered to them. I also know that just because they aren’t here does not mean they have been erased forever. Similarly, today, I’d rather feel grateful for having been loved and cherished, for being given the life I now lead, for the friends who are part of my life now and who went to such great lengths to make me feel special. I’d ra-ther do that than give in to solemnity and nostalgia for the lost ones although they and the moments I’d shared with them were special too. Today, I find reasons to celebrate the day, rather than pass it off as just another day. On my birthday, I count my blessings for what I have today before I lose it, and what I had yesterday. On our birthdays, we pay homage to the thing called Time. This article hit home for me… I am glad to have each of you pass through my life and the life of my family. I am grateful for this grand organization we call Kiwanis. And today I celebrate with you the 100 years of service past and look onward towards another 100. In the meantime, have a safe week…. ~V~

Kiwanis Club – Kiwanis Club has always been willing to volunteer for our many events. They have also sponsored an event called “Heart N Sole” for the past three years, giving away hundreds of pairs of shoes to students who have been identified as McKinney-Vento with-in RUSD. (Pictured: Hacienda Heights Kiwanis Club President Victoria Davidson.)

Mr. and Mrs. Malkin – Not only have their involvement in Kiwanis helped to set up the “Heart N Sole” program, but Mr. David Mal-kin and Mrs. Teri Malkin (pictured) have vol-unteered at many FRC events. Mr. and Mrs. Malkin have also been very generous in their donations of gently used clothing. They have provided the FRC with many warm jackets, shoes, slacks, business shirts and other mis-cellaneous items that have all been given to our families.

By Mahmood Bashir On Thursday January 15, our club hosted the Division-35 DCM. All ten clubs in our Division were represented, with sixty three members in attendance. We were well represent-ed with thirteen in attendance includ-ing LTG Mahmood Bashir. Madame President was joined by Dave Wallach, Lon Salgren, Kathy Young, David Malkin, An-na Wu, Susan Jacklin, Charlie Huff, Ray Jan, Nancy Bashir, John Carmichael, and our very own Builder Nicholas The theme was" Kiwanis 100 Year Birthday", the tables were dec-orated with centerpieces, balloons, and candy. Our club pro-vided two beautiful cakes to be enjoyed by all. The raffle ta-

ble was packed, thanks to the generosity of our members, bringing in $340.00 for the Division. We had a Kiwanis Trivia, and Google helped many answer the questions correctly, all worth it though as we all added to our knowledge about our great organization. Our very own Dave Wallach was awarded the "Top Guns Of Service Award" for the awesome job he did coordinating the volunteer effort to decorate the Rose Floats, Kiwanis Float this year was awesome as always. He was thanked for. "Leading with his Heart, Investing in our Youth, and Serving with a Smile". Lets all together thank all who made the DCM enjoyable for all, Special thanks to Kathy Young, Dave Wallach, and Nancy Bashir was planning, preparing, and showing up early to set-up for the evening.
