Rising Stars Children’s Center The Babies and the Toddlers have been working hard at watering plants that they planted in the back park! Miss Sylvie worked very hard to make the Preschool room look amazing! The children really enjoy the updated classroom! All the classrooms have received a Beta fish, watching and feeding the fish is a very important part of our day ! Early Drop off Dates: July 17 have your child at the club by 9:15AM Aug 7 have your child at the club by 9;30 AM Aug 14 have your child at the club by 9:30 AM Aug 20 have your child at the club by 8:45 AM Please have your child here at the specified times to ensure they have adequate time to prep and leave for the scheduled event. The last day of Summer Program is August 24th! Helpful lunch tips: Freeze a yogurt tube for their lunch to help keep their lunch cold & they will have a frozen treat! Pack your child's lunch the night before & have them help! Try as many new foods as you can ! We encourage all families to donate too! The donation bin is located in the front entrance under the easel. Please Donate! We are looking for donations of water bottles. These water bottles will be given to the children when they do not have one for outings. Reminder to label all you child(ren)’s items/clothes. This will help prevent items for get- ting misplaced. Highlights The Babies named their fish Bubbles, The Toddlers named their fish Franklin, & The Pre- schoolers named theirs Sammy. The bug hunt in June was a lot of fun and the Preschoolers cater- pillar had made a cocoon! Good Job bug hunting! Each week the children will participate in one Random Act of Kindness. The children will have the opportunity to brainstorm what they would like to do to give back! There are some new additions to the classroom: Mario, Luigi and Bowser the three new gold fish ! Some highlights this far are the airport, the vet clinic, and the police station tour. There is more to come !     Summer 2015 Menu

    Note: This menu complies 100% with the Alberta Nutrition Guidelines for Children and Youth. Water is served throughout

    the day. We use whole grain/wheat products. We try to reduce sodium level by making our soups & omitting processed foods.

    (We do not serve processed foods, chocolate milk or liquid candy.) We do provide lactose free milk if required. On special

    occasions a treat is offered to children some of the time and not considered part of their regular menu plan. All foods for

    infants and babies are modified/pureed for their appropriate development needs and will be discussed with parents/guardians

    to ensure daily dietary needs are met. WE support breast feeding and will work with mother with scheduling, breast milk

    storage, and space to accommodate nursing times.
