4.1 President –
Another busy year has passed us by with new initiatives being put into
place by the P&F Committee as a result of committee ideas and resultant
hard work.
The P&F continued with the traditional activities, supplying coffee at
sporting events, and the usual Mothers/Father’s Day breakfasts and
Grandparents Day afternoon tea. The committee continued to subsidies
outside events as well.
The evening at Scitech was well attended and all who went were treated
to an unexpected fire drill as well, a Movie night at Event Cinemas was a
great susses with 4 cinemas being filled by JSR families whilst the outdoor
movie night at Beechboro campus son a balmy February evening was a
great start to the school year.
The P&F continued to support the Twilight Fair, again raising over $1000.00
from the sale of second-hand books, kindly donated by our school
community. Donations to the school for Children’s Ministries, Sunscreen
and volunteer support for sausage cooking at Founders Day and the
annual Christmas Card delivery from Santa continued as well.
Whilst these short two paragraphs summarise the support and events
offered to the school community by the P&F, it does not convey the hours
of commitment that goes on behind the scenes to make these events
successful. The dedication by the volunteer committee extends to the
planning, purchasing of items, set up and execution of the event, not to
mention the hours of discussion we have on the best way to make the

event fun and successful for the families involved. I cannot extend my
thanks far and wide enough to cover the school staff and committee
members who make all of the events a reality. My heartfelt and sincere
thanks to all, the P&F co9mmittee is not possible without each and every
one of you.
As a committee we are also trying to work smarter and think of new ways
of delivering meaningful activities which benefit the whole of school
community. As a result of some brainstorming the P&F committee met
with Mrs Carleen Edwards and Chef Paul Dean to determine if the
Hospitality students could assist with P&F events. As a result of this meeting
the Hospitality students will be providing the food, service and set up at
the Mothers Day and Fathers Day breakfast, the Grandparents Afternoon
Tea and the Year 6 Celebratory assembly. This will give our students an
extra opportunity to gain skills required to meet the course objectives, to
showcase to families/friends and wider school community what they can
do and have achieved as part of their studies whilst the monetary cost of
the event will be borne by the P&F.
In similar initiative the P&F has purchased a portable coffee machine so
that the Hospitality students can work on their Barista skills at our sporting
events and this will eventually replace the traditional coffee van.
A further item requiring the time of the P&F executive committee has
been the need to update the P&F constitution to meet changing
requirements of the Incorporations Act. This has been a long process
requiring considerable consultation amongst the committee and with the
Principal and Chair of School Council. For those that are interested the
amended P&F Constitution can be found in its usual location on the
schools website.
Finally it is time for me to say goodbye as President of the P&F Committee
and to wish my successor as much fun as I have had in the role, the best
of luck and assurance of my support if required. I would like to thank the
JSR Community for its continued support of the P&F, School staff for their
knowledge, patience and support with my unending questions and
requests of them over the past five years, to the Maintenance staff for
their many hours of setting up and dismantling events, the our Principal
and Executive team for their skills, enthusiasm, support and guidance and
most importantly to the wonderful committee members without whom
none of the above is possible.
4.2 Treasurer – Treasurers’ annual statement of accounts and auditors
report are in the Appendix. Accounts were audited with no issues raised
by the Auditor.
Carolyn Rowcliffe
4.3 Principals – The Principals full report is contained within the appendix.
Advice from the Dept of Mines is that this AGM can go ahead, because
the paperwork to disband the association has been lodged with the

A gift was given to the outgoing President Michelle Beor from the school.
Jason Bartell
