Introduction

Introduction:

Government First Grade College,

Gauribidanur, established during the

academic year 2007-08, by offering B.A.,

B.Com., B.B.A. & B.Sc., with 300 students.

Students strength has increased over the years.

College Originally housed in Sericulture

Department building, gradually switched to its

own infrastructure. The college has secured

2(F) & 12(B) status from the University

Grants Commission. During the year 2016 the

institution applied for NAAC Accreditation

and secured B+ Grade with CGPA points of

2.56. The second cycle NAAC Accreditation

is due in the year 2021. The College has been

granted Rs. 2.00 Crore RUSA Funds under

Phase 2.0. The IQAC Cell is striving towards

quality enhancement with active support from

Sri N.H. Shivashankara Reddy, Chairman,

College Development Committee, and

Honourable MLA, Gauribidanur Constituency

and all other stake holders.

VISION: To achieve and sustain excellence in the

field of education with a view to empower and

enable students for holistic development,

professional excellence and carve them into

value embedded citizens fit for the job market.

Principal’s Message:

I am delighted to announce the first

issue of the newsletter of the Internal Quality

Assurance Cell (IQAC) of our college. IQAC

plays a vital role in developing institution into

a quality education centre. It brings forth the

achievements of the institution. It standardizes

academic activities with the objective of

sustained academic growth, identifying the

areas that need improvement with novel ideas.

Our faculties have been working

dedicatedly together and they are devoting

their time, energy and mind for maintaining

internal quality assurance in the institution. I

am very thankful to them.

• Orientation programme for the first year

students was held on 18-07-2019. Dr.

Sudarshan GA, Educationist addressed

students. Faculty members conducted

programmes on Ice breaking, Goal

Setting and so on.

• Additional 16 new Classrooms, Staff

Rooms & Open Auditorium in the

college quadrangle were inaugurated on

29-02-2020. Total cost of the project is

Rs. 3.00 Crores.

• Construction of classrooms, Computer

Lab and Library is underway at the cost

of Rs. 4.5 Crores.

• Free Laptops were distributed to 583

first year degree students on 29-02-

2020.

• Two Wheel chairs were donated to

college by Lions Club of Gauribidanur

for the physically challenged students of

our institution.

• Faculty members of the college

contributed Rs. 18,000/- to Sri. Srikanth

N, an visually impaired, an outgoing

student of B.A. Course, for his further

studies. He is pursuing Bachelor Course

in Law.

Transformations & Innovative

Interventions” on 31st October 2019.

More than 100 delegates participated in

the seminar. Seminar proceedings were

released at the inaugural programme.
