1st Telecom Policy was Released in Feb. 1997, Revised in April 1999 & Dec. 2001. It mainly provided for;

The Sector Restructuring, Liberalization & Privatization and New Regulatory Framework

The Current ICT Policy was Established in 2006

New ICT Policy, 2006:

Kenya Communications Amendment Act, 2009

The new Act was geared to address the 2006 policy objectives.It expanded the facilitative role of the regulatory authority (CCK) to encompass ICT & Electronic Commerce by way of;

Removal of barriers to e-transactions; Ensuring integrity of electronic records & e-transaction;Cyber crimes;
