AUCTION ITEM The generous Wooden Athletic Fund donors listed below have increased their giving at least one giving level since June 1st and thereby “Become a Champion” for UCLA Athletics. We would like to take this opportunity to thank these individuals for their generous support. NEW “BECOME A CHAMPION” DONORS What was your favorite UCLA memory or experience? Neema Barbod: “I would say my favorite was the 13-9 USC football win in 2006. I was still a student at UCLA and we were sitting in the student section. The atmosphere at the Rose Bowl was amazing. It was a great win for UCLA and for Coach Dorrell!” Gina Garrett: “My favorite experience was when my son was born at UCLA Medical Center.” Alicia Junker: “My favorite UCLA experience of all time was traveling to Dallas, Texas for our 2014 Wooden Athletic Fund Donor trip to watch our football team take on the Texas Longhorns in Dallas Cowboys’ AT&T Stadium. Watching our student-athletes take the field in a stadium where I know many of them hoped to play in again in the next step of their career and watching Jerry Neuheisel come in with a game-winning touchdown pass was one of the most exciting and exhilarating UCLA experiences I have had the pleasure to be a part of. That moment was one, of many, that made me so proud to be a Bruin.” Kat Lauer: “My favorite UCLA experience of all time was competing in the Varsity 8 at the NCAA Rowing Championships. It was the product of many early mornings, thousands of meters on the erg, and a lot of blisters but I was so incredibly overcome with emotion wearing UCLA across my chest and racing with my teammates on the biggest collegiate stage.” Sarah Lazaro: “I have so many memories and experiences at UCLA that will forever stand out in my mind. As a student, I can vividly remember fainting in the Rose Bowl on a very hot day from jumping up and down when UCLA Football scored a touch- down to take the lead over then #3 Michigan after beating then #3 Alabama a couple of weeks before. While on staff, I was most proud the moment UCLA Women’s Soccer won our first National Championship for the program in 2013.” Emily Lerner: “My favorite memory/experience is easy: the 1995 NCAA Men’s Basketball Championship season. We were ranked #1 from the very start; the expe- rience ran from attending every game that season—where Pauley was packed—to watching the second round game in Boise on TV with Tyus’ famous 4.8 second winning shot, to traveling to the regionals in Oakland with many coworkers, then all of us traveling to Seattle for the final games, to celebrating with the fans, coaches and team after the final game. I don’t think anything will ever top that experience.” Jill Machuca: “My favorite experience was getting hired here at UCLA Athletics.” Parker Poliakoff: “My favorite UCLA memory was the 2008 men’s basketball game against Cal where Josh Shipp hit the game winning shot from behind the back- board. It was one of my first times watching UCLA on TV and ever since that day I’ve been a UCLA basketball fan.” Josh Rebholz: “My favorite memory is when we beat USC in Football in 2012 at the Rose Bowl with the Eric Kendricks blocked punt, Johnathan Franklin touchdown runs and of course Anthony Barr's sack. What an awesome day for UCLA.” Zack Rosenfeld: “My favorite memory: December 2, 2006 is a day I will never forget as long as I live. Being the shameless Bruin fan I am, nothing made me happier than being at the Rose Bowl with my dad to see Pat Cowan, Bruce Davis and Eric McNeil take down Southern Cal to return the Victory Bell to its rightful home in Westwood and stop Southern Cal from going to the BCS Championship game.” Brian Smith: “I’d say my favorite experience was having my two kids enter this world at the UCLA Medical Center—that was pretty memorable. Tyus Edney’s 4.8 second dash and bucket to beat Missouri being a close second.” Taylor Swearingen: “My favorite experience was opening night of the “new” Pauley Pavilion in 2012. The event was such a wonderful synergy of past, present and future for UCLA Athletics and UCLA Basketball and it was a joy to share in the excitement with our supporters, alumni, student-athletes, coaches and staff. Truly a night for the ages at Pauley Pavilion and one that was only made possible through the extraordinary generosity of the UCLA community.” YOUR WOODEN ATHLETIC FUND STAFF RESPONDS! (310) 206-3302 [email protected] “THANK YOU” FROM THE BRUINS COLE MADEY Men’s Golf • Sophomore Economics Major • West Linn, Oregon CLICK HERE TO SUPPORT UCLA MEN’S GOLF CLICK HERE FOR MORE INFORMATION “I truly mean it when I say there is no better place to be a student-athlete than at UCLA. The opportunity for me to come to this environment has been the greatest blessing of my life. Without the generosity of our donors I would not be living out my dream of being a student-athlete at the greatest university in the world. All of the student-athletes and I at UCLA cannot show our appreciation enough for all that you do. The least we can do for all of you is to devote everything we have to being great, and with your help we Bruins will do that. Thank you again.” CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR STUDENT-ATHLETES ON THEIR GRADUATION!

What was your favorite UCLA memory or experience?

Neema Barbod: “I would say my favorite was the 13-9 USC football win in 2006. I was still a student at UCLA and we were sitting in the student section. The atmosphere at the Rose Bowl was amazing. It was a great win for UCLA and for Coach Dorrell!”Gina Garrett: “My favorite experience was when my son was born at UCLA Medical Center.”Alicia Junker: “My favorite UCLA experience of all time was traveling to Dallas, Texas for our 2014 Wooden Athletic Fund Donor trip to watch our football team take on the Texas Longhorns in Dallas Cowboys’ AT&T Stadium. That moment was one, of many, that made me so proud to be a Bruin.”Kat Lauer: “My favorite UCLA experience of all time was competing in the Varsity 8 at the NCAA Rowing Championships. As a student, I can vividly remember fainting in the Rose Bowl on a very hot day from jumping up and down when UCLA Football scored a touch-down to take the lead over then #3 Michigan after beating then #3 Alabama a couple of weeks before. While on sta, I was most proud the moment UCLA Women’s Soccer won our first National Championship for the program in 2013.”Emily Lerner: “My favorite memory/experience is easy: the 1995 NCAA Men’s Basketball Championship season. We were ranked #1 from the very start; the expe-rience ran from attending every game that season—where Pauley was packed—to watching the second round game in Boise on TV with Tyus’ famous 4.8 second winning shot, to traveling to the regionals in Oakland with many coworkers, then all of us traveling to Seattle for the final games, to celebrating with the fans, coaches and team after the final game. I don’t think anything will ever top that experience.”Jill Machuca: “My favorite experience was getting hired here at UCLA Athletics.”Parker Poliako: “My favorite UCLA memory was the 2008 men’s basketball game against Cal where Josh Shipp hit the game winning shot from behind the back-board. It was one of my first times watching UCLA on TV and ever since that day I’ve been a UCLA basketball fan.”Josh Rebholz: “My favorite memory is when we beat USC in Football in 2012 at the Rose Bowl with the Eric Kendricks blocked punt, Johnathan Franklin touchdown runs and of course Anthony Barr's sack. What an awesome day for UCLA.” Zack Rosenfeld: “My favorite memory: December 2, 2006 is a day I will never forget as long as I live. Being the shameless Bruin fan I am, nothing made me happier than being at the Rose Bowl with my dad to see Pat Cowan, Bruce Davis and Eric McNeil take down Southern Cal to return the Victory Bell to its rightful home in Westwood and stop Southern Cal from going to the BCS Championship game.”Brian Smith: “I’d say my favorite experience was having my two kids enter this world at the UCLA Medical Center—that was pretty memorable. Tyus Edney’s 4.8 second dash and bucket to beat Missouri being a close second.” Taylor Swearingen: “My favorite experience was opening night of the “new” Pauley Pavilion in 2012. The event was such a wonderful synergy of past, present and future for UCLA Athletics and UCLA Basketball and it was a joy to share in the excitement with our supporters, alumni, student-athletes, coaches and sta. Truly a night for the ages at Pauley Pavilion and one that was only made possible through the extraordinary generosity of the UCLA community.”

“I truly mean it when I say there is no better place to be a student-athlete than at UCLA. Thank you again.”

CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR STUDENT-ATHLETES ON THEIR GRADUATION!
