1000 Miglia VintageThe vintage era in car racing lasted from 1919 – 1930. During this period, the front-engined car came to dominate, giving rise to such famous models as the Bugatti 35, the Mercedes-Benz SS K and Alfa Romeo 6C 1750 GS. It was in 1930 that Tazio Nuvolari won the Mille Miglia race at the wheel of an Alfa Romeo 6C 1750 GS Spider, setting a new record average speed of 100 km/h. Legendary racing drivers of that period like Nuvolari and Rudolf Caracciola displayed courage, character and style. Considering the poor state of the roads and the technical standards of the cars, vintage racing was a most dangerous and life-threatening passion.The design of the 1000 Miglia Vintage perfectly refl ects this exciting period. Needless to say, this timepiece is equipped with a beautifully fi nished, hand-wound mechanical chronograph movement. The large dial is inspired by vintage dashboard instrument design. It refl ects the technical beauty of the movement and remains in constant view. The 1000 Miglia Vintage is crafted in a limited series of 250 timepieces in 18-carat rose gold.
