Human Body Organs and Functions

HEART:Pumps blood to all parts of the body.

STOMACH:Breaks down food you eat into smaller pieces.

KIDNEYS:Filters the blood and takes waste from the bloodstream.

BRAIN:Control center of the body.

LUNGS:Takes oxygen out the air and put it in the bloodstream and takes carbon dioxide out the body

LIVER:Makes bile to help your stomach break down food, store nutrients your body needs, makeantibodies to help fight disease.

Releases chemicals that break down food into the small intestines and it produces insulin that is used to break down sugar.

Small Intestines - Breaks down food even more and then it absorbs all the nutrients back into the blood.Large Intestines – it absorbs water back into the blood.

Filters harmful things out of your blood, regulate the amount of water in your body and then sends wastes (urine) to bladder.

Kidney

Storage of urine until full and then you urinate.

Bladder

Control center of the body that carries information back and forth between brain and organs.
