My main products and ancillary texts all come together cohesively as I aimed very specifically to maintain the motif of enigma throughout each of them. In my trailer, many questions are raised - what is this boy's story? What is the significance of this girl - is she real or not? Why are there shots in a graveyard? These types of questions are what drive audiences to see a film, and the poster also supports this.

Poster

The poster is so simple yet the characters piercing blue eyes, the washed out bright-white background and the hand scrawled font poses many more questions. Is this boy crazy? What does the font signify? The quotations from respected reviewers will have an impact on viewers; audiences only want to see something that's worth their time and money in today's hectic world.

Magzine Cover

This cover fits in perfectly with my poster – the bright white background and hand scrawled font still remain so that audiences will know what film this is upon seeing both pieces. Seeing two industry standard print tasks together cements the film to audiences as one they should give their time to see. The combination of reviews on the poster and obviously a feature in a magazine shows audiences that this is being talked about; they should see it if they don't want to be left out!

Trailer

I feel, as do the people I have shown it to, that I have made a very authentic and moving trailer that draws people in to solve the enigma they are presented with. It was very important to me to produce this to a very high quality, and thanks to the equipment and planning I used, I think I have achieved this.

Trailer

The trailer supports the ancillary texts in that the style of all three is very similar. For example, this shot ties in very closely with the shot of Harrison's eyes in the poster.

The titles in the trailer tie in with the words seen scrawled in the background of the magazine cover:

Trailer

As with the poster and the magazine cover, there is a huge emphasis on these two characters. They are, in fact, the only characters shown. This is deliberate; as I was filming I realised I needed to portray these two as living in a world completely separated from everybody else. This is why all of the promotional materials only feature the two actors seen.

Combination of Tasks

In short, it was important that I didn't isolate any of my tasks by making them connote different things or putting them into a drastically different style – black and white for example. In every choice I made when producing these tasks, I had to consider how each would be affected and ensure that I was able to reproduce such decisions across the board.
