SCRIPTURE READINGS
First Reading: Isaiah 55:1‑3 With great enthusiasm and fervor, God urges his people to come to him and to accept the gifts he extends to them. Second Reading: Romans 8:35, 37‑39 No matter what bad times we may have to go through, we remain undaunted, because we are certain that Christ loves us. Gospel: Matthew 14:13‑21 Jesus show his compassion for the people by healing their sick, and giving them food to eat.
COLLECTION BREAKDOWN: July 21 - July 27:
Many thanks to all of our parishioners who respond each week to the needs of our parish and who make their weekly offering a part of their budget. May God bless you for your generosity.
Scripture reflection with Fr. Tim + Pause + Reflect + Act +
1) How many ways do you show appreciation for a meal?
Prayer, thanking the cook, savoring each bite, sharing
your table with others?
2) St. Paul boldly proclaims that nothing can separate us
from the love of God. Is there an individual in your life
who is in need of this message? How might you express
it to this person?
3) Many times in the Gospels, we hear of Jesus going off to
a “deserted’ place by himself” in order to pray. Where do
you find solace and quiet to pray?

ASK A FRANCISCAN
Before my sister died of lung cancer, she quit going to
Church. I tried daily to pray the Chaplet of Divine Mercy
for her. Is it possible that she is in heaven?
Yes, that is entirely possible. Each of us needs to resist the
temptation to shove God aside and pass divine judgment on
someone who we cannot know nearly as well as our Creator.

Congratulations to our RCIA Candidates!
Welcome to Kyle Wayne Lewis and Sarah Elizabeth Hunt, who became Catholic and joined our parish family on Saturday, July 25, 2020.
Kyle received all three of the Sacraments of Initiation: Baptism, Confirmation, and Holy Eucharist.
Sarah made her Profession of Faith, was Confirmed and received the Holy Eucharist. We commend these faithful candidates and their sponsors, Allison and Dan Holdt, for steadfastly participating in the RCIA process of coming into the Catholic Church and receiving these Sacraments of Initiation. Our prayers are with both of you as you begin the adventure of living the challenging life of a faithful Catholic.
