global warming: –noun
increase in the earth's
average atmospheric
temperature that causes
corresponding changes in
climate and that may result
from the greenhouse effect.
Global Warming Facts
An Increase in the average temp of Earth’s near
surface atmosphere and ocean
Earth’s Average temp increased 0.18*c in the past
couple of decades
The Arctic areas such as the North and South pole
are the most affected and the areas near the line
of tropical are the least affected
The Ice Caps in the world are melting, and as they
are melting the sea level is increasing yet some
islands are shrinking and vanishing
With less pollution there is a chance of decreasing
or stopping the global warming happening
Main Cause of Global
Warming
Green House Gases
Fossil Fuel
Deforestation
Burning Carbon Dioxide
Harmful Smoke
Sprays
Ozone Layer
It’s a layer of Earth’s atmosphere that
contain high concentration of Ozone
It absorbs 97-99% of the sun light and
pressure
The earth would completely be burned
without the Ozone layer
The ozone layer can be recovered from the
opening of it by reducing pollution
The ozone layer is 13-40 km above earth’s
surface
USA Temperature
Area and Affect
Alaska: polar warming
Florida: coral reef bleaching
California: animal range shift
Montana: glacier melting
Chesapeake Bay: marsh loss
New York: sea level rise
Quotes
As water temperatures continue to rise, researchers say rainbow trout,
"already at the southern limits” of their temperature ranges in the
Appalachian mountains, could disappear there over the next century.

Say Goodbye to Ski VacationsSlopes on the East Coast last year
closed months ahead of time due to warmer weather, some losing as
much as a third of their season. [Washington Post]
Say Goodbye to That Snorkeling VacationTheelkhorn coral which
used to line the floor of the Caribbean are nearly gone, “victims of
pollution, warmer water and acidification from the greenhouse gas
carbon dioxide seeping into oceans.” [Denver Post]
Say Goodbye to Meadows of WildflowersScientists think global
warming could wipe out a fifth of the wildflower species in the western
United States. They’ll be replaced by dominant grasses. [National

Environment Affect
The main affect on the environment is the
flow of the fresh water to the world’s ocean.
So basically the worlds freshwater is very
low in amount, other that the fact that the
freshwater is flowing to the ocean. As the
temp increase, the snow and ice in
mountains melt to the ocean. Another
example is that the floods of rain drives the
freshwater is lakes and rivers to the ocean.
Example
USA is facing two main affects on thefreshwater loss from the two famous statesof Mississippi and Montana.
1. Mississippi is facing a lot of floods from rain that is causing the city to almost flood the entire freshwater to the ocean and polluted areas in 1993.
2. Montana is getting all of its freshwater snow in mountains melt to the ocean and polluted areas
Economic Affect
Other than the environmental affects
stated previously, the economy also has
a great impact from the global warming.
First, some forest areas are getting dry
and any sparkle can cause a massive
wildfire within that area with serious
destruction. Second, the freshwater is
running low, so the coast of freshwater
and water bills is getting higher.
Example
USA’s two main concerns economically towards the global warming affects is the destructive wild fires heading to the cities and the loss of freshwater to the ocean
1.L.A. California faced a Wildfire from a thrown cigarette at a bush from the side of the 241 Toll Road and Santiago Canyon, it caused some destruction to the background of the scene
2. Phoenix gets more than half of its freshwater from Colorado river which has been facing a drought for 11 years now, if the river continues with the drought it will eventually dry out.
Social Affect
The last main impact to the USA from
the major global warming is the social
affect between and in the people. Social
affects include hunger and food
shortage in the session of the floods.
Another affect to the social life would be
the destruction of homes in the region of
the wildfires.
Example
USA’s top priority is fixing and solving the problem that people are facing with the floods and wildfire in their homes.
1. Miami faced massive flood waves in 2005 that flooded a lot of homes and resorts close to the sea shore.
2. Florida faced a usual great wildfire in 2010 that started in a forest and made its way to the city by destructing more that 20 buildings
How To Stop Global
WarmingThree simple rules:
REDUSE, REUSE, RECYCLE
Every little thing helps:Turn off the water while not in use/ transport by human energy
or public transportation instead of carpooling/ use recycled papers/ print back to back/ cancel junk mail-email instead of mailing/ use your own shopping bag/ plant a tree instead of building a pool/ use as little water as you can to hygiene/ turn off any electric device not in use/ switch to green environmental energy
REDUSE: reduce any harmful energy conserver, mainly vehicles and electric devices. Use less water when showering or planting or washing. Cancel junk mail and use less emails
REUSE: reuse any material that is capable of being processed again without recycling, reuse any bags for transporting objects, reuse glass food tools that are capable of being reused
RECYCLE: recycle any materials or objects that are able to be crushed and condensed to its original form to be reused, give any paper to a recycling factory, and never throw out any object before making sure that its unrecyclable
