ALLEN TAKES OVER THE TOP• Allen Smith has taken over the top spot in the Ivy League by averaging 117.4 all-purpose yards per game. Last Saturday vs. Yale, Smith netted 87 yards rushing, his second-highest total of the season, and a season-high 58 receiving yards. The performance added exactly seven all-purpose yards to his season average.
WALKER LEADING THE WAY• Sophomore Graham Walker enters this week leading all Ivy League rookies in receptions (37), receiving yards (501/62.6 ypg) and touchdown receptions (5). He was named the Ivy League Rookie of the Week on Sept. 27 after posting nine catches for 132 yards and a touchdown.
BLASTING OFF• After his three-touchdown performance against Yale last week, Wes Rockett now ranks 12th in FCS and leads the Ivy League with 8 TD receptions.
EJ’S CONSECUTIVE GAMES WITH A TD PASS• EJ Perry set a new Ivy League record last weekend by completing a touchdown pass in his 16th consecutive game.• The previous record of 15 was held by Cornell’s Ricky Rahne from 1999-00 and Penn’s Mike Mitchell from 2002-03.• Perry has completed a touchdown pass in 17 of his 18 career games.
EJ’S 300-YARD STREAK• EJ Perry had eight consecutive games with 300+ passing yards that spanned from Nov. 9, 2019 - Oct. 16, 2021 vs. Princeton, which set a new Ivy League record. The previous record of five consecutive games was set by Gavin Hoffman from Penn in 2000.
KEEPING DRIVES ALIVE• Brown is 57-for-127 (.449) on third down conversions this season, good for tops in the Ivy League and 16th in FCS.• The Bears are even better on 4th down conversions, going 21-for-31 (.678), 12th in the nation and first in the Ivy.

STATE OF THE OFFENSE• Brown ranks fourth in the Ivy League and 31st in FCS with 30.9 points per game, and leads the Ivy with 328.2 passing yards per game (7th in FCS) and 458.6 yards of total offense per game (11th in FCS).• Brown has scored at least 29 points five times this season, including twice topping the 40-point mark.• On Oct. 30, Brown tied its season-low in points with 17 at Penn, despite outgaining the Quakers 411-296 and controlling the time of possession by more than 11 minutes.• The Bears have topped 500 yards of total offense three times this season - 587 at Cornell, 534 vs. URI and 507 vs. Yale.• Brown put up 490 yards of total offense and 159 rushing yards (both their 4th-highest totals this season) against Princeton, who entered the game with the second-best scoring defense (8.8 pg) in FCS and ranked No. 1 in rush defense (28.2 ypg).• Brown followed that up by posting season-highs of 587 total yards and 312 rushing yards at Cornell, while scoring a season-high 49 points.• Brown’s 587 yards of offense was its most in a game since posting 559 at Brown Stadium on Oct. 3, 2015 in a 41-31 win over URI.• Brown has not totaled over 600 yards of offense since putting up 627 on Nov. 23, 2013 at Columbia in a 48-7 win.
TURNING THE CORNER• Brown’s offense has seen a tremendous turnaround over the last three seasons.• Brown has scored 247 points this season. They scored 143 points through the first five games of 2021, which matched their point total through all 10 games of the 2018 season.• After averaging 14.30 points per game in 2018, Brown scored 30.0 points per game on average in 2019 and is averaging 30.88 through the first eight games of the 2021 season.
DEFENSE CREATING OFFENSE• Brown is one of just nine teams in FCS to have two fumble returns for touchdowns this season, which came in back-to-back weeks against Colgate and Princeton.• Harvard and Yale are the only other Ivy team to have two defensive scores this season (1 fumble, 1 INT return).• Against Princeton, Joseph Shell scooped up a fumble and returned it 71 yards for a touchdown to move the Bears within 42-28 late in the third quarter.• Shane Prevot picked up a fumble (forced by Camden Gagnon) and returned it 74 yards to paydirt to give Brown a
10-0 lead in the first quarter against Colgate.• The Bears also got a touchdown from defensive lineman Brooks Jones against Colgate, who lined up as an eligible receiver and caught a touchdown pass from Perry in the fourth quarter to extend the Brown lead to 24-3.
FINISHING STRONG• Brown is outscoring opponents 105-60 in the fourth quarter.• Nov. 6 vs. Yale is the only time Brown has been outscored in the fourth quarter of any game this season.• The Bears have scored at least 14 points in the fourth quarter in four of their eight games this season, and 21+ twice.• Trailing 33-0 at the start of the third quarter against Bryant on Oct. 2, Brown scored 29 points in the final frame, including 22 unanswered to pull within 36-29 with 2:06 remaining.• Brown scored three touchdowns over a span of 3:32 to pull within seven points, recovering two onside kicks during that span.• The 29 points are also the most scored by Brown in a single quarter in at least a decade.
LUCKY BOUNCES• Brown recovered a pair of onside kicks in the fourth quarter on Oct. 2 at Bryant, both of which led to touchdowns. It marked the first time the Bears had recovered an onside kick since 2017.
WIDE RECEIVER U.• Brown continues to live up to its old nickname of Wide Receiver U. this season, with 17 different receivers having at least one reception, several of whom rank among the Ivy League and nation’s leaders.• Brown is averaging 328.2 yards through the air this season, the most in the Ivy League and seventh-most in FCS.- Wes Rockett• Rockett has registered at least 61 yards receiving in six games this season, and at least 75 yards four times.• Rockett is sixth in the Ivy in all-purpose yards/game (88.5).• He leads the squad with 588 yards and eight TD catches, and is tied for the team lead with 49 receptions.• Rockett has two career multi-touchdown games, both coming this season and both when he scored three TDs on five receptions against Princeton and Yale.

- Hayes Sutton• Sutton had a career-best three touchdown performance at Cornell on Oct. 23.• He is tied for the team lead with 49 receptions, ranks second with six TD catches, and ranks third in receiving yards (477).• Sutton has registered four games this season with at least 69 yards receiving.
- Graham Walker• Walker has two games with at least 89 yards receiving, and has five TDs this season.• Walker scored the game-winning touchdown at Cornell, a 30-yard reception on a leaping catch over the defender with 29 seconds left.
• Brown lost its top six receivers from the 2019 squad that ranked second in the Ivy League with 301.1 receiving yards/game.• Sutton led all returning receivers with 15 catches for 163 yards in 2019.• Entering this season, RB Allen Smith was the only member of the Bears roster to have at least one career touchdown reception. RISING TO NEW HOECHTS• Brown alum Michael Hoecht is currently on the LA Rams 53-man roster. Hoecht made the Rams’ practice squad last season before being named to the active roster out of training camp in 2021.• He has appeared in all nine games this season for the Rams, and made three starts.• The defensive lineman has two total tackles so far in 2021.• A native of Oakwood, Ohio, Hoecht played in 37 games from 2016-19 with Brown, recording 174 tackles and 16.5 sacks, while recovering four fumbles.

2021 SEASON• Perry caught his first career TD pass and longest career reception on a 64-yard TD catch and run vs. Yale on Nov. 6.• Perry completed a career-high 38 passes for 337 yards and two touchdowns on Oct. 30 at Penn.• At Penn, Perry moved into third place on the school’s all-time list for career passing touchdowns.Perry also currently sits third all-time for total offense, entering this week with 6,531 yards.• Perry was named the winner of the Gold Helmet Award from the New England Football Writers Association on Oct. 25 following his strong performance in Brown’s 49-45 win at Cornell. and a 49-21 loss against Harvard after starting the season 5-1, which included a big 19-0 win at Dartmouth.• The Lions offense has been an equal attack of running and passing as Columbia is averaging 160 yards on the ground
and 170 yards through the air. Most of the points for Columbia have come from the run game with 16 of the Lions 21 touchdowns coming via the rush.
• Dante Miller is the leading rusher for Columbia with 759 yards on the ground, averaging 88.5 yards per game. Miller is one of four Lions to have three rushing touchdowns this season. Miller has been held in check in his last three games with less than 70 yards on the ground in each of those contests and only one touchdown. Miller had 136 yards and a score against Central Connecticut State and 187 yards and a touchdown against Penn. Miller has hit the 100-yard mark in three of his eight games this season.
• Joe Green is the leading passer for Columbia with 1,331 yards and five touchdowns. Green is completing 57.7 percent of his passes and has only thrown one interception. Green has thrown for at least 100 yards in all but one game this season and has a touchdown pass in five of the games this year. Green has opened it up more in his last two games, hitting the 200 yard mark in each game. Against Yale, Green had a season-high 223 yards and he followed that up with 213 yards against Harvard.
• Three receivers average over 30 yards per game with Wills Meyer leading the way at 47.6 yards per game. Ernest Robertson is averaging 33 yards per game and Marcus Libman is averaging 31.9 yards. Luke Painton has a team-high two touchdown receptions this season.
• Ben Mathiasmeier is tied for tops in the Ivy League with three interceptions on the season. He had two picks against Georgetown in the second game of the season and picked up another one at Dartmouth three games ago.
• In the most recent meeting between Brown and Columbia back in 2019 was a 48-24 win for the Bears. Brown scored 21 points in the first quarter and led 28-17 at the half. The Bears outscored Columbia 20-7 in the second half. EJ Perry led the Bears with 300 yards passing. Allen Smith led the Bears with 113 yards and two touchdowns.
