4 | Rex’s Message

Love What You DoWhat would you say if I told you that I haven’t worked in a long time? Of course, I’ve spent time at the office working on new policies and improvements to our business and traveled all over the world to meet you. But I haven’t worked. The truth of the matter is, if you love what you do, you’ll never work a day in your life.

Apple founder Steve Jobs had the right idea about work, life and the ability to make a difference:

“Your work is going to fill a large part of your life and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. The only way to do great work is to love what you do.”

Truly loving what you do is a verb. It’s a doing thing. It’s hard, if not impossible, to love impassively. Roll up your sleeves. Put your shoulder to the wheel and engage. You’ll find that loving what you do comes naturally. There will be obstacles to overcome, but that’s what life is all about – growing stronger.

I hope each of you wake up in the morning loving what you do and understand that you have been given the unique ability to positively impact the lives of others. I hope you Smile. And if you’re not smiling, or others around you

aren’t smiling, ask yourself what you can do to change it.

Love what you do. Cherish and be passionate about the people that support you along the way and discover that work suddenly starts feeling more like purpose.

Forever Yours,

Rex MaughanCEO

6 | Be Heart Healthy

Be Heart HealthyIn February, we are celebrating National Heart Health Month. To help you get ready, here are some important tips and tricks that can help you support your heart health.

Catch Some ZZZZZZsIt seems like we’re always talking about the importance of getting a good night’s sleep and heart health is no exception. Studies show that those who get adequate rest have lower blood pressure and lower risk of diabetes, heart disease and other chronic diseases. Prepare your mind and body for a restful sleep by turning the TV off and avoiding your pesky cell phone. The artificial light from these sources can keep you from falling asleep quickly and experiencing a restful sleep!

Play The Numbers GameMeasuring your cholesterol levels and blood pressure are a great way to gauge your heart health and recognize areas of concern. Healthy cholesterol levels should be below 200mg/dL. This stands for milligrams per deciliter and measures the concentration of cholesterol in your blood.

Similarly, the American Heart Association recommends that blood pressure be less than 120/80 mm Hg. The top number indicates the pressure in the arteries when the heart beats and the bottom number measures the pressure in the arteries between beats when the heart muscle is resting. It’s important to remember that one reading doesn’t mean something is wrong but multiple high blood pressure readings can give you insight into how efficiently your heart is functioning. These are just a few of the ways that our body regulates and reports. How amazing is that?

Eat Your Heart OutOkay, of course we don’t mean that literally! But there are heart healthy foods you should make sure you’re including in your diet. Good fats (mono and poly-unsaturated fats) like olive oil, canola oil, fish that are high in omega-3s, avocados, some nuts and many other foods are great sources of these healthy fats.

You should also get plenty of fiber through whole grains and vegetables. The target goal should be 35 grams of fiber every day! Fiber supports heart health by promoting lower cholesterol and helping you feel more satiated, which can support weight-loss. As you already know, when you lose weight, the body is able to function more efficiently, which in turn helps to support your heart. What’s not to love?

Choose A Supporting CastWhile we all try to make the healthiest choices possible, there are times where this is hard or all together impossible! There are many heart health supplements that can help fill these gaps. Two of our favorites are Forever Arctic Sea® and Forever CardioHealth®.

Forever Arctic Sea® provides the optimum balance of healthy fats to support a healthy heart including a proprietary blend of DHA-rich calamari oil, Omega-3 fish oil and high oleic olive oil.

Forever CardioHealth® not only features CoQ10, a powerful naturally occurring antioxidant that decreases as we age, but also contains a powerful blend of B vitamins that help maintain healthy homocysteine levels. It gets better! Herbal extracts grape seed, turmeric, boswellia and olive leaf found in Forever CardioHealth® are known to be beneficial for cardiovascular health too!

Understanding the effects that diet, exercise and a good night’s sleep can have on your health is a great first step to making positive changes that can help you look and feel better.

10 | FBO Highlight

“I’ve always worked hard,” says Adal Bertha De La Torre. “While I was pregnant with my son, I used to help my husband with his business. As my son grew older, I went back to my full-time job as a cosmetologist, but our family suffered by having both of us working all the time. My daughter grew up with me at the salon, playing in a small space in the back while I was busy. On the weekend, instead of going out as a family, we kept on working. Our stress level was high, and we went to bed tired. Forever is the change my family needed to live a better life.”

Rallying Around Each OtherAdal Bertha De La Torre and her family were excited to be invited to a Rally in Houston, having previously heard good things about the Forever products. “My family attended with me. What we heard was incredible - a strong company, free of debt, with high quality products and a competitive compensation plan.”

Before deciding to become a Forever Business Owner, Adal Bertha wanted to first talk to her family and make sure everyone was on board. “To me, it was very important to involve my family,”

says Adal Bertha. “Everyone was so excited and motivated. All we needed to do was to make a commitment. To my surprise, they said let's register and do this together. I loved that!”

Adal Bertha acknowledges that without her family’s help, she would have

Focused on Family Family has always been important to Adal Bertha De La Torre. “If my family is happy, I’m happy,” she says. And the last year has been a blessed year for Adal Bertha and the De La Torre family. She’s achieved Eagle Manager, bought her dream car, made a trip to Cancun and fulfilled a dream of visiting the Home Office in Arizona.

stumbled. “My family started to organize everything, they provided that push that I needed. I knew very little about technology, about smartphones and computers. Thank God, my daughter was there to teach me. They gave me discipline and taught me the things I needed to be a real Forever Business Owner.”

Pushing For GreatnessSuccess for Adal Bertha and her family was no accident. In order to succeed as Forever Business Owners they focused, prepared and devoted the time necessary to grow the business. “When I started, I would stay up until three in the morning, getting to know the products and their properties and benefits. I stopped watching television. I didn’t want to waste time. During the day, I would go visit my family and friends to talk to them about the Forever opportunity. At night, I would use my time to study and learn everything related to my new mission.”

At Forever, Adal Bertha says she’s learned to love herself more, value her family and everything that the Forever opportunity has presented. “Forever kept its promise, and we are also standing by the decision we made the day we signed up,” Adal Bertha explains. “We have found what we were looking for: financial freedom, the ability to decide how much you want to earn, the freedom to be yourself and do your job any way and with whomever you want to do it.”

Looking forward, Adal Bertha isn’t afraid of dreaming big and pushing herself to make an impact on her loved ones. “My long-term goal is to pay for my nine-year-old son’s college education. For me, this job is something beautiful and I am proud to do it wholeheartedly, with respect and enthusiasm.

“The day that I stop telling others about this opportunity will be because I have stopped breathing.”

“We have found what we were looking for: financial freedom, the ability to decide how much you want to earn, the freedom to be yourself and do your job any way and with whomever you want to do it.”

14 | Pack for Phineas

During our last visit to Johannesburg, we met a unique and inspiring young man, Phineas. Phineas was our driver and tour guide that day. I will never forget him.

I wrote in my journal the night after we met:Phineas is a 45-year-old father of two, born in Soweto just before the 1976 uprising. He was our guide around Johannesburg for the day. I loved spending time with him. He was optimistic and grateful, despite growing up in the slums. His generosity and love of his own people was incredible to experience. I was genuinely moved by his charisma and example. He constantly shares these pithy and powerful observations. So, Nick and I coined the phrase, “The Wisdoms of Phineas!”

A couple of his comments… “More money, more troubles!”, “AIDS – if you are not infected you are affected.” There were so many more… I just couldn’t write fast enough!

At the end of our day together both Nick and I felt compelled to help him out a little. He was thrilled and later came back to show me the new work shoes that he had bought with the money we gave him.

“Now I have Sunday shoes and work shoes, what more does a man want!”

I was humbled, and then I cried!

Pack for Phineas | 15

As part of our tour that day, we drove through an area called Orlando, one of the divisions of the Soweto Township. The people there live in small shacks and the kids run freely and happily along the dirt streets. A group of these young, smiling children stopped us and greeted Phineas. They were obviously familiar with each other, and banter quickly ensued.

It was so cool to watch their interaction. I was quickly enthralled as they sang, chatted and almost danced with each other. They appeared to be in some kind of negotiation. The issue swiftly became apparent – Phineas only had one coin to give and the children were trying to work out how they could split it fairly amongst each other.

My heart soared as I watched a man with so little to give, give so freely of what he had, and how the kids were unwilling to take it unless it was shared equally.

So, right there in those muddy puddles, Pack For Phineas was born. In a few months, thousands of us are going to be flying in to South Africa. Most of us are fortunate that we have plenty and are able to give. We are asking you to go into your closets and cupboards and pack a few extra items into your bag. We will have collection bins in your hotel to collect these items and at the end of the week, we are going back to Orlando with Phineas to take all that you have brought to those kids and their families. If it takes one trip, great. If it takes 100, AWESOME!

So, are you ready to pack for

Johannesburg?

Here are some of the items you can pack:
