El tiempo que ha pasadodesde la última edición de la

revista de la FCI ha sido fecun-do en acontecimiento en más deun sentido. De una parte, secelebró la Asamblea General enBratislava, con sus correspon-dientes reuniones previas depreparación. A continuación, enla capital eslovaca se celebró laexposición canina más grandede la historia de la FCI.

A los miembros del Comité Ge-neral que cesan en su cargo,don Karl P. Reisinger y donUwe Fischer, les agradezco suexcelente cooperación durantetantos años, así como la lealtady el apoyo ofrecidos. Y a losdos nuevos miembros del Co-mité General, don ChristoferHabig y Dr. Tamas Jakkel, lesdoy la bienvenida al Comité ycontemplo con agrado nuestrafutura cooperación.

¡En el marco de la ExposiciónCanina Mundial 2009 sereunieron 30.000 perros en unsolo fin de semana en Bratisla-va! Con más de 21.000 inscrip-ciones en la Exposición CaninaMundial y casi 9.000 perros enlas exposiciones de clubes na-cionales, de celebración parale-la, esto viene a significar unrécord mundial, y merecería serinscrito en el libro Guiness delos Récords. FCI-Magazins war in mancherHinsicht ereignisreich. Einer-seits wurde in Bratislava dieGeneralversammlung abgehal-ten, mit verschiedenen Vorbe-reitungssitzungen davor. An-schließend ging in der slowa-kischen Hauptstadt die größteHundeausstellung in der Ge-schichte der FCI über die Büh-ne.

Den ausgeschiedenen Vor-standsmitgliedern Karl P. Rei-singer und Uwe Fischer dankeich für die langjährige hervor-ragende Mitarbeit und für diemir entgegengebrachte Loyali-tät und Unterstützung. Diebeiden neuen Vorstandsmitglie-der Christofer Habig und Dr.Tamas Jakkel heiße ich im Vor-stand herzlich willkommen undfreue mich auf eine gute Zu-sammenarbeit.

30'000 Hunde waren im Rah-men der Hunde-Weltausstel-lung 2009 an einem Wochen-ende in Bratislava versammelt!Mit über 21'000 Eintragungenfür die Welt-Hundeausstellungund nahezu 9'000 Hunden fürdie parallel durchgeführten na-tionalen Club-Ausstellungenkommt dies einem Weltrekordgleich und würde den Eintragins Guiness Buch der Rekordeverdienen. La période qui a suivi la paru-tion du dernier numéro du

magazine de la FCI a été richeen événements à de nombreuxégards. D’une part, l’assembléegénérale, qui a eu lieu à Bra-tislava et a été précédée de di-verses réunions préparatoires etd’autre part, la plus grandeexposition canine de l’histoirede la FCI qui s’est ensuite dé-roulée dans la capitale slo-vaque.

Je souhaite remercier les an-ciens membres du Comité Gé-néral, Karl P. Reisinger et UweFischer, pour leurs nombreusesannées d’excellente collabora-tion ainsi que pour leur loyautéet leur soutien à mon égard.Simultanément, je souhaite cor-dialement la bienvenue auxdeux nouveaux membres duComité, Christofer Habig et Ta-mas Jakkel ; c’est avec plaisirque j’envisage une collabora-tion de qualité.

been eventful in many ways.On the one hand, the generalassembly was held in Bratisla-va, preceded by various prepa-ratory meetings. Following this,the biggest dog show in thehistory of the FCI was put on inthe Slovakian capital.

I would like to thank the de-parting members of the board,Karl P. Reisinger and UweFischer, for the many years ofexceptional work they put inand for the loyalty and supportthey gave to me. I would alsolike to offer a warm welcome tothe new members of the board,Christofer Habig and Dr TamasJakkel, and I am looking for-ward to having a good workingrelationship with them.

There were 30,000 dogs gath-ered together for one weekendin Bratislava within the frame-work of the World Dog Show2009! With over 21,000 regis-trations for the World DogShow and nearly 9,000 dogs forthe National Club Show, whichwas held in parallel, this alladds up to a world record and isdeserved of an entry in theGuinness Book of Records.What the organisers achieved,despite a number of mishaps,must be regarded as a convinc-ing and magnificent event. It istruly admirable that such asmall national associationshould be up to the task of stag-ing a large event of this kindand even more so consideringthat they had no so-called pro-

fessional staff available. How-ever, the WDS 2009 also re-vealed some limits and made itclear that a brake needs to beput on efforts for continuouslybigger and bigger events. Con-sequently, we need to considerwhether, in the future, nationalevents should continue to beapproved at the same time asthe WDS. Nevertheless, theSlovakian National Associationstill deserves respect and recog-nition for putting on this mam-moth event. No one who waspresent will forget this greatweek for cynology.

In September I had the opportu-nity and the pleasure of beingin Dornbin (A) at the 14th FCIAgility World Championships.The atmosphere we experi-enced in the hall, which wasfull practically to the last seat,was something special andalmost indescribable – simply“typical Agility”. The fact thatteams from the AmericanKennel Club, the Kennel Club(GB) and the Canadian KennelClub took part successfully wasa great bonus and additionallyenhanced this magnificentevent. However, the perfectorganisation of this greatfestival of cynology was alsomost impressive. For what theyachieved I would like to con-gratulate the Austrian Cyno-logical Association and theAgility Commission and thankthem warmly. In addition,everyone who was there en-joyed the special hospitalitywhich is typical for Austria.

So ist zu überlegen, ob inZukunft, neben der WHA,weiterhin nationale Veranstal-tungen bewilligt werden soll-ten. Der Slowakische Landes-verband verdient aber für dieDurchführung dieser Mammut-veranstaltung Respekt und An-erkennung. Allen, die dabeiwaren, wird diese große Wocheder Kynologie in Erinnerungbleiben.

Im September hatte ich Ge-legenheit und das Vergnügen,in Dornbirn (A) bei den 14.FCI-Agi l i ty-Wel tmeis ter -schaften dabei zu sein. Die At-mosphäre, welche in der sozu-sagen bis auf den letzten Platzgefüllten Halle herrschte, warspeziell und kaum zu beschrei-ben – einfach „Agility like“!Dass Teams des AmericanKennel Clubs, des KennelClubs (GB) und des Kanadi-schen Kennel Clubs erfolgreichteilnahmen, war eine Bereiche-rung und eine zusätzliche Auf-wertung dieser großartigenVeranstaltung. Beeindruckendwar aber auch die perfekte Or-ganisation dieses großen Festesder Kynologie. Für diese be-sondere Leistung möchte ichdem ÖKV und der Fachkom-mission Agility gratulieren undherzlich danken. Zudem genos-sen alle, die dabei waren, diespezielle Gastfreundschaft, diefür Österreich typisch ist.

Así pues, debemos re-flexionar si en el futuro se de-berán o no aprobar los aconte-cimientos nacionales paralela-mente a la Exposición CaninaMundial. En cualquier caso, lafederación nacional eslovacamerece todo nuestro respeto yreconocimiento por este “ma-mutesco” evento. Todos los queparticiparon recordarán congusto esta gran semana de lacinología.

En septiembre tuve la ocasión yel placer de asistir al 14º Cam-peonato Mundial de Agility dela FCI, en Dornbirn. El am-biente en el pabellón, totalmen-te abarrotado, era muy especial,y difícil de describir – ¡simple-mente “al estilo Agility”! Quelos equipos del American Ken-nel Club, del Kennel Club (GB)y del Kennel Club de Canadáparticiparan con éxito fue unenriquecimiento que aportóplusvalía a este extraordinarioacontecimiento. También fuemuy impresionante le perfectaorganización de esta gran fiestade la cinología. Deseo felicitarde corazón y expresar mi agra-decimiento a la FederaciónCinológica Austríaca ÖKV y ala Comisión de Agility. Ade-más, todos los asistentes y visi-tantes pudieron disfrutar de laespecial hospitalidad, tan típicade Austria.

La Mondiale2009 a toutefois mis en exerguecertaines limites et clairementdémontré que le souhait d’orga-niser des événements toujoursplus grands doit être modéré. Ilconvient donc d’étudier si, àl’avenir, des événements natio-naux devront encore être orga-nisés parallèlement à l’exposi-tion canine mondiale. L’asso-ciation nationale slovaquemérite néanmoins le respect etla reconnaissance pour laréalisation de cette manifesta-tion gigantesque. Toutes lespersonnes qui étaient présentesgarderont en mémoire cettesemaine grandiose de la cyno-logie. .

En septembre, j’ai eu l’occa-sion et le plaisir d’assister au14e championnat du monded’agility de la FCI à Dornbirn(A). L’ambiance dans le hall,plein comme un œuf, fut trèsspéciale et difficile à décrire –ou plutôt elle fut tout simple-ment « agilitesque » ! La per-formance des équipes représen-tatives de l’American KennelClub, du Kennel Club et duCanadian Kennel Club a étéenrichissante et a contribué àvaloriser cet événement hors ducommun. L’organisation par-faite de cette grande fête de lacynologie fut tout aussi im-pressionnante. Je tiens à félici-ter et à remercier très sin-cèrement l’organisation caninenationale autrichienne (OeKV)et la commission d’agility pourcette réalisation grandiose. Deplus, toutes les personnes pré-sentes ont apprécié l’hospitalitéparticulière typiquement autri-chienne.

Le Comité Général de la FCIvous souhaite, ainsi qu’auxmembres de votre famille, dejoyeuses fêtes de Noël et unebonne et heureuse année 2010.

The show followed variousFCI meetings, always as-

sociated with such gatherings,and started in glorious tem-peratures of 27°C. The Presi-dent of the Slovak Cynologi-cal Association, Štefan Štefik,and his team worked hardover the four days to try andmake sure everything went toplan. However, they had a lotof dogs to cope with!

The entry result was remark-able and posed a challenge tothe organisers to meet all therequirements, which they suc-ceeded in doing.

Statistics from the well-orga-nised press office showed thatthere were 21,021 dogs with373 breeds from 59 countriescompeting in the breed rings.The highest number of dogscame from the Czech Re-public (3,474), Russia (2,667),Italy (2,111) and Poland(1,586). The breeds with mostentries were American Staf-fordshire Terrier (291), Rho-desian Ridgeback (286), Lab-rador Retriever (285), CaneCorso (263), Yorkshire Ter-rier (263), Beagle (216),French Bulldog (211) and Si-berian Husky (209).

Como suele ser usual en estetipo de eventos, la exposi-

ción estuvo acompañada devarias reuniones de la FCI ycomenzó a una temperatura ex-celente de 27°C. El Presidentede la federación cinológicaeslovaca, don Štefan Štefik, ysu equipo trabajaron duramentedurante cuatro días, a fin deasegurar el transcurso sin pro-blemas del evento. ¡Sin em-bargo, tuvieron que gestionarmuchísimos perros!

day one and did not finish inthe main ring until 8.30 p.m.,leaving little time to freshenup before the evening event.

At the same time there were anumber of breed specialtiesand a national show whichgave people a chance to showa number of times; however,this again caused problemsespecially as the fine weatherturned colder and wet and putpressure on the tented areas.With these specialties, theentries for the week reachednearly 30,000, which was anamazing figure set against theworldwide financial climate.

The show also hosted the Eu-kanuba semi-finals, with thewinners heading off to theUSA in December. The judg-ing took place in the mainring on Sunday afternoon,with an Alaskan Malamutebased in Malta winning. TheEukanuba team also hosted adinner on the Friday eveningof the show where a drawtook place for the categoriesfor the finals later in the year.

By the time the weekendcame around, people began tofind their feet and their senseof direction. It was unusual tohave a lot of dogs beingjudged upstairs whilst theshopping areas, overseaskennel clubs and main ringwere all downstairs.

The main ring itself was notthe one envisaged by ŠtefanŠtefik who had been at themercy of the showground“Incheba”, who had given thebest two halls over to anotherevent. This lead to furtherproblems, just like the factthat over 6,000 dogs wereregistered only after the finalentry deadline. But the orga-nisers were able to solve theseproblems, too.

The judging of the Best inShow took place in a revisedhall, which was long but notquite wide enough. Thismeant that a revised hall wasused for the Best in Show ringand it was long and but quitewide enough; however, thesewere the circumstances andpeople made the best of it. ForSunday night and the finals,the podium looked great andthere was a parade of all thejudges with their flags of the

La demi-finale du EukanubaWorld Challenge, dont les vain-queurs se rendront aux Etats-Unis en décembre, s'est égale-ment déroulée dans le cadre dela Mondiale. Le vendredi soir, Euka-nuba et son équipe ont organiséun dîner au cours duquel s'estdéroulé le tirage au sort desgroupes pour la finale qui auralieu en fin d’année.

Im Rahmen der Ausstellungwurde auch das Eukanuba-Se-mifinale abgehalten, dessen Ge-winner im Dezember in dieUSA reisen. Das Richten fandam Sonntagnachmittag imHauptring statt. Es gewann einAlaskan Malamute aus Malta.Das Team von Eukanuba ver-anstaltete auch ein Abendessenam Freitagabend, bei dem eineZiehung für die Kategorienbeim Finale stattfand, das Endedieses Jahres stattfindet.

La consecuencia de estas enor-mes cifras fue que el trabajo delos jueces comenzó con algo deretraso el primer día y no fina-lizó hasta las 20.30 horas, porlo que quedó poco tiempo pararefrescarse y prepararse para lagala de la noche.

Simultáneamente también secelebraron algunas exposi-ciones monográficas especialesasí como una exposición na-cional. Así, los propietarios delos perros tuvieron la posibili-dad de presentar a sus perrosrepetidas veces. Sin embargo,esto causó algunos problemas,ya que el estupendo tiempo em-peoró y la lluvia cayó con fuer-za sobre las carpas. Gracias aestas exposiciones especiales,en esa semana hubo casi 30.000inscripciones – una cifra real-mente impresionante, si se tieneen cuenta el ambiente finan-ciero en que nos encontramos anivel mundial.

En el marco de la exposicióntambién se celebró la semifinalde Eukanuba, cuyos ganadoresviajarán a EE.UU. en diciem-bre. Los jueces realizaron susvaloraciones el domingo por latarde, en el ring principal. Elganador fue un Alaska Mala-mute, de Malta. El equipo deEukanuba organizó una cena elviernes por la noche durante lacual se celebró un sorteo paralas categorías en la final, que secelebrará a finales de año.

Al comenzar el fin de semana,los participantes comenzarontambién a orientarse y a tenerlas cosas claras. Fue poco habi-tual que muchos perros fueranvalorados en la planta superior,mientras que las áreas decompra, los Kennel Clubsextranjeros y el ring principalse encontraban todos en laplanta baja.

El ring principal en sí no fue elprevisto por Štefan Štefik, elcual dependía de los titularescon derecho de explotaciónsobre el recinto Incheba en quese celebró el evento, ya que di-chos titulares pusieron los dosmejores pabellones a disposi-ción de otro evento. Esto trajoproblemas adicionales, puesdespués del cierre de lasinscripciones había más de6000 perros inscritos. Pero losorganizadores también solucio-naron estos problemas.

A l'approche du week-end, lesparticipants ont commencé àtrouver leurs repères. Fait inha-bituel : de nombreux chiens ontété jugés à l’étage, alors que lazone commerciale, les standsdes organisations canines natio-nales et le ring d'honneurétaient situés au rez-de-chaus-sée.

Le ring principal ne fut pas ce-lui prévu par Štefan Štefik, dé-pendant du bon vouloir des ges-tionnaires du complexe Inche-ba, qui ont donné les deuxmeilleurs halls à une autremanifestation. Cela a toutefoisengendré quelques problèmes,sachant notamment que plus de6000 chiens étaient déjà inscritsaprès la dernière clôture desinscriptions. Les organisateursont cependant su résoudre cesproblèmes.

L'élection du Best in Show s'estdéroulée dans un hall transfor-mé qui était certes long, maisassurément pas suffisammentspacieux. Cela a eu pourconséquence que le choix duBest in Show s’est déroulé dansun hall transformé, assez longmais un rien trop étroit. Voilàla situation avec laquelle lesgens ont dû composer. Lepodium des finales dudimanche soir fut grandiose ;tous les juges ont défilé avecles drapeaux de leur pays dansune ambiance internationale etcosmopolite.

Le Best in Show a été jugé parMr Hans Müller, Président dela FCI. Son choix, par ailleurstrès bien accueilli, s'est portésur le Pharaoh Hound de natio-nalité suédoise « Northgate’sAs You Like It », présenté parsa propriétaire Jenny Hall. Lechien avait déjà gagné songroupe à la Cruft et il avait ob-tenu la Réserve Best in Showlors de la Mondiale de Stock-holm l'an dernier. Un westhighland white terrier originairede Slovaquie a remporté laseconde place et un caniche toyoriginaire du Japon s’est classétroisième. Les autres vain-queurs de groupes furent un ko-mondor et un golden retriever(Hongrie), un dogue allemand(Italie), un beagle (Pologne) etun setter irlandais (Lituanie).

Der Hauptring selbst war nichtder von Štefan Štefik vor-gesehene – er war auf die Be-treiber des Incheba-Veranstal-tungsgeländes angewiesen, diedie besten beiden Hallen eineranderen Veranstaltung zur Ver-fügung gestellt hatten. Dasbrachte zusätzliche Probleme,ebenso, dass mehr als 6000Hunde erst nach dem letztenMeldeschluss gemeldet wur-den. Aber auch diese Problemewurden gelöst.

Die Wahl des Best in Showfand in einer umgebauten Hallestatt, und diese war wohl langaber nicht wirklich breit genug.Aber so waren nun einmal dieUmstände, und die Betroffenenmachten das Beste daraus. DasPodium für das Finale amSonntagabend sah großartig ausund es gab einen Umzug allerRichter mit den Flaggen ihrerLänder, was der Veranstaltungein internationales und kosmo-politisches Flair verlieh.

Eduard Andre from the ÖVGand his team delivered one ofthe best World Championshipsever, with regard to both thesporting and the organisationalside of things, according sports-people, officials and spectatorsalike. The chairman of the FCIAgility Commission, Jean-PaulPetitdidier also praised theperfect organisation and wasvisibly delighted by the greatambience and the mood in the

Le président de lacommission d’agility de la FCI,Jean-Paul Petitdidier, a égale-ment loué l’organisation par-faite et s’est montré enthou-siaste face à une ambiance fan-tastique et à l’atmosphère quirégnait dans le hall. Jean-Paul Petitdidier: “Nonecesitamos unos recorridos tandifíciles en un campeonatomundial. Todos los que se pre-sentan aquí ya han demostradoen las eliminatorias que son delos mejores del mundo. En uncampeonato mundial, más bienson recorridos ‘bellos‘ lo quedeseamos ver”.

Aún así, los rendimientos de-portivos fueron sensacionales.Con cada año que pasa, el nú-mero de rendimientos altos au-menta y las diferencias se estre-chan. Las diferencias de tiempocada vez son más pequeñas,hecho que naturalmente ha pro-porcionado mayor suspense –especialmente a este campeona-to mundial. Y cuando aumentael suspense, el pabellón tam-bién está “al rojo vivo”. Lasbanderas ondean, los cencerrosy las trompetas suenan, losaplausos son abrumadores.

¿Qué significa en realidad elAgility para el Presidente deesta Comisión de la FCI? Petit-didier: “Para mí, se trata de lagran escuela de educación cani-na. Si todos los perros estuvie-sen tan bien adiestrados, enton-ces ya no tendríamos proble-mas en las ciudades con la ani-madversión hacia los perros.¡Para la FCI, el Agility es unavitrina de exposición, un letrerode propaganda!“

Was bedeutet eigentlich Agilityfür den FCI-Vorsitzendendieser Kommission? Petitdi-dier: „Für mich ist es die großeSchule der Hunde-Erziehung.Wenn alle Hunde so gut aus-gebildet sind, dann haben wirauch in den Städten kein Pro-blem mehr mit Anfeindungender Hunde. Agility ist für diedie FCI eine Vitrine, ein Aus-hängeschild!“

Während in der Halle Fahnengeschwenkt wurden, reagiertedie ÖGV-Finanzreferentin, alssie hörte, dass ein chilenischerTeilnehmer extra einen Kreditaufgenommen hatte, um an die-ser WM teilnehmen zu können.Sie ließ die Spenden-Kassarumgehen. 2.122.- Euro wurdengespendet, um dem Chilenen zuhelfen. Traumhaft, wie alleNationen zusammen hielten,wie sie halfen! !

Jean-Paul Petitdidier: « Nousn’avons pas besoin de parcourssi difficiles dans le cadre d’unchampionnat du monde. Tousceux qui sont ici présents ontdéjà prouvé lors de manifes-tations antérieurs qu’ils fontpartie du gratin mondial. Lorsd’un championnat du monde,nous voulons plutôt de « beauxparcours ».

Les performances sportives ontété néanmoins sensationnelles.D’année en année, elles de-viennent plus denses. Les chro-nomètres sont plus serrés, cequi fait naturellement augmen-ter la tension – tout particuliè-rement dans le cadre de cechampionnat du monde. Etlorsque la tension monte, le hallest « en ébullition ». Des dra-peaux sont agités, cloches devaches, trompettes et applau-dissements retentissent.

Qu’est-ce que le président decette commission de la FCIentend réellement par agility ?Petitdidier: « Pour moi, il s’agitde la plus grande école d’édu-cation canine. Si tous les chiensétaient aussi bien élevés, nousn’aurions plus de problèmesdans les villes ni de réactionsnégatives envers les chiens.Pour la FCI, l’agility est unevitrine, une figure de proue ! »

Alors que des drapeaux étaientagités dans le hall, le porte-pa-role de la trésorerie de l’ÖGV aimmédiatement réagi lorsqu’elle a su qu’un participant chi-lien avait contracté un emprunttout spécialement pour pouvoirparticiper à ce championnat dumonde. Elle a fait circuler lacaisse et 2.122 € de dons ontété récoltés pour aider ce parti-cipant. Incroyable ! la co-opération et l’aide apportée partoutes les nations !

Article 9 - Kennel names1. All members must apply to theFCI Secretariat General for theregistration of new kennel namesin the international FCI KennelName Register. A national ca-nine organisation is allowed toapply for such registrationexclusively for the breeders whohave their legal residence in thecountry in question. The FCI re-cognises kennel name co-owner-ship. However, in this case, itmust be confirmed - per litter -which person in the joint ven-ture is officially responsible foradherence to national and in-ternational regulations in allmatters concerning breedingand studbook registration.

d) Each breeder is required, priorto migrating to another countrywhere the FCI has a memberor contract partner, to notifythe member or the contractpartner that registered thekennel name so that the transfercan be done correctly.

Article 11 – Judges2.A judge can appear on thejudges’ list of a member or con-tract partner only if he has his le-gal residence in the country inwhich this member or this con-tract partner has its head office.Furthermore, a judge can appearon one FCI judges’ list only.

Article 8 - Le livre des origines1.Pour qu'un chien puisse êtreinscrit dans un livre des originesou dans l'annexe au livre desorigines, son éleveur/propriétairedoit avoir sa résidence légaledans le pays où le chien serainscrit.

8.Lors de l'émission d'un pedigree,il est obligatoire de renseignerclairement sur celui-ci les éven-tuelles incorrections visibles,définitives et identifiables parrapport au standard de la race enmatière de couleur de poil.Chaque chien d’une portée nepeut être titulaire que d’un seulpedigree et d’un seul pedigreed’exportation, sur lequel doitfigurer le nom du propriétairedu chien. En outre, une seulepersonne doit être considéréeresponsable de la possessiond’un chien. Cette personne doitapparaître en tête de la liste despropriétaires.

Article 9 - Les affixes1. Tous les membres doivent de-mander au Secrétariat Général dela FCI l'enregistrement de nou-veaux affixes au répertoire in-ternational des affixes. Une orga-nisation canine nationale ne peutadresser une telle demande que sil'éleveur possède sa résidencelégale dans le pays en question.La FCI reconnaît la co-propriétéd'affixes. Toutefois, dans ce cas,un seul des co-propriétairesdoit être désigné, pour chaqueportée, comme officiellementresponsable du respect des règ-lements nationaux et interna-tionaux en matière d'élevage etd'inscription au livre des ori-gines

d) Avant de s'installer dans unautre pays dans lequel la FCIpossède un membre ou un par-tenaire sous contrat, tout éle-veur doit en avertir le membreou le partenaire sous contratayant enregistré son affixe desorte que le transfert puisseêtre réalisé correctement.

Article 11 - Les juges2.Un juge ne peut figurer sur laliste de juges d’un membre oud'un partenaire sous contrat ques'il possède sa résidence légaledans le pays où se trouve le siègesocial de ce membre ou de cepartenaire sous contrat. En outre,un juge ne peut figurer que surune seule liste de juges de la FCI.

StatutenGesetzlicher Wohnsitz: Ort, andem eine Person ständig wohn-haft ist. Dieser Begriff ist durchnationale Gesetze der jeweiligenLänder definiert.

GeschäftsordnungArtikel 8 – Zuchtbuch1.Ein Hund kann nur dann in einZuchtbuch oder in den Anhangzu einem Zuchtbuch eingetragenwerden, wenn der Züchter/Hun-dehalter seinen gesetzlichenWohnsitz in dem Staat hat, indem der Hund eingetragen wer-den soll.

8.Bei der Ausstellung einerAhnentafel müssen allfälligesichtbare, endgültige und identi-fizierbare Abweichungen derFellfarbe von den Rassestandardsklar und deutlich angegebenwerden. Jeder Hund eines Wur-fes darf nur eine einzige Ah-nentafel und Export-Ahnen-tafel besitzen, auf der der Na-me des Hundehalters angege-ben sein muss. Zudem ist eineeinzige Person als verantwort-licher Hundehalter anzusehen.Diese Person nimmt in der Lis-te der Eigentümer den erstenPlatz ein.

Artikel 9 – Zwingernamen1. Alle Mitglieder müssen beimGeneralsekretariat der FCI dieEintragung neuer Zwingernamenin das internationale Verzeichnisder Zwingernamen beantragen.Ein nationaler Hundeverbandkann einen derartigen Antrag nurdann stellen, wenn der Züchteroffiziell seinen gesetzlichenWohnsitz in dem betreffendenStaat hat. Die FCI anerkenntMiteigentum an Zwingernamen.Allerdings muss im Falle einerZwingergemeinschaft proWurf bestimmt werden, wel-cher der Miteigentümer offi-ziell für die Befolgung der na-tionalen und internationalenReglements bezüglich derZucht und der Eintragung insZuchtbuch verantwortlich ist.

d) Bevor ein Züchter seinenWohnsitz in einen anderen Staat,in dem die FCI ein Mitgliedoder einen Vertragspartnerhat, verlegt, muss er das Mit-glied bzw. den Vertragspart-ner, bei dem sein Zwingernameeingetragen wurde, darüber un-

definido por las leyes nacionalesde los respectivos países.

ReglamentoArtículo 8 – Libros de orígenes1.Para que un perro pueda serinscrito en un libro de orígenes oregistro inicial, su criador/propie-tario debe tener su domicilio le-gal en el país en el que se regis-trará al perro.

8.Al expedir un pedigrí, es impres-cindible indicar claramente lasposibles desviaciones de color depelo visibles, definitivas e identi-ficables del ejemplar con respec-to al estándar de la raza. Cadaperro de una camada sólo de-berá tener un único pedigrí ypedigrí de exportación, en elque deberá figurar el nombredel propietario del perro. Ade-más, se deberá contemplar unasola persona como propietarioresponsable. Dicha personadeberá encabezar la lista depropietarios (primera posi-ción).

Artículo 9 – Afijos1. Todos los miembros deben soli-citar al Secretariado General dela FCI el registro de nuevosafijos en el registro internacionalde afijos de la FCI. Una organi-zación canina nacional solamentepuede solicitar tal registro, si elcriador tiene su domicilio legalen el país en cuestión. La FCI re-conoce la copropiedad de afijos.Sin embargo, en caso de copro-piedad de afijo, se debe deter-minar para cada camada quécopropietario es responsabledel cumplimiento del regla-mento tanto nacional como in-ternacional en lo que respecta ala cría y al registro en el librode orígenes.d) Antes de mudarse a otro paísque sea miembro de plenoderecho o contratante de laFCI, todo criador debe notificarla mudanza a dicho miembro depleno derecho o contratanteque ha registrado su afijo, a finde que se pueda realizar co-rrectamente el traspaso.

Artículo 11 – Jueces2.Un juez puede aparecer en ellistado de jueces de un miembroo un socio contratante sólo sitiene su domicilio legal en el paísde este miembro o este sociocontratante. Además, un juezpuede aparecer en sólo un listadode jueces de la FCI.

Article 14 - Résidence légale

Dans l’hypothèse où le pays dela résidence légale ne peut êtredéterminé selon les Statuts dela FCI, les dispositions sui-vantes sont prises en considéra-tion : - Le pays de résidence légale estle pays où la personne passe laplupart de son temps et où setrouve son centre de relations.

Si le pays de la résidence légalene peut être déterminé selon lecritère ci-dessus, la dispositionsuivante sera prise en considé-ration :- Le pays de résidence légale estle pays pour l’administrationduquel une personne paye sesimpôts.

S’il est toujours impossible dedéterminer le pays de la rési-dence légale, il appartient auComité Général de la FCI dedécider.

L’assemblée a marqué son ac-cord pour que les deux propo-sitions (annexes 27 et 28) entrenten vigueur dès le 1er janvier 2010.

LES 4 ET 6 OCTOBRE 2009

Le Comité Général a décidé quela Uniunea Chinologica dinMoldova retrouverait son statutde membre associé dès le 4octobre 2009.

La situation en Bosnie demeureinchangée et le club représentatifdemeure exclu de la FCI ; toute-fois, les éleveurs bosniaques sontautorisés à inscrire les chiots nésen Bosnie dans les livres d'ori-gines des pays voisins, membresde l'ex-Yougoslavie : Macédoine,Slovénie, Serbie, Monténégro ouCroatie.

Vomiting is the forcible ex-pulsion of stomach and/or

intestinal contents through themouth. Telltale signs are whenthe dog tends to lick her mouthincessantly, and an obviouscontraction of the stomachmuscles, often accompanied byheaving, and sometimes gag-ging.

Sometimes dog owners reporttheir dog is vomiting but onlyin a minority of cases we needto talk about regurgitation.When you notice abdominalcontractions, this is a sign ofreal vomiting and the problemis linked to the stomach. If yousee undigested food, the prob-lem is most likely linked to theesophagus. The treatment, ofcourse, is different dependingon the respective cause.

There are numerous reasonsthat may cause a dog to vomit.Some causes for mild acutevomiting in dogs include: over-eating, eating too fast, eatingsomething indigestible or toxic,anxiety, sickness. Some causesfor chronic vomiting in dogs in-clude: food allergies, reactionto certain drugs, stomach prob-lems (e.g. gastritis, stomachulcer), infectious diseases (e.g.parvovirus, distemper), worminfestation, inflammatory bow-el disease, intestinal obstruc-tions, liver disease, cancer. Be-sides problems in the digestivesystem, health problems inother parts of the body may al-so cause vomiting in dogs, suchas: pancreatitis, infection in theabdominal cavity, hepatitis,kidney failure or hormonal im-balance.

Here are some measures thatcan be taken to prevent dogfrom vomiting, depending onthe cause: 1) If your dog often vomits inthe morning or before eating,and the expelled substance is aclear yellow or brownish fluid,it may mean that she has anupset stomach.

Es gibt zahlreiche Gründe, dieeinen Hund zum Erbrechenbringen können. Ursachen fürleichtes, akutes Erbrechen beiHunden sind unter anderem:Überfressen, zu schnelles Fres-sen, die Einnahme von unver-daulichen oder giftigen Sub-stanzen, Angst oder Krankheit.Ursachen für chronisches Er-brechen bei Hunden sind unteranderem: Nahrungsmittelaller-gien, Reaktionen auf bestimmteMedikamente, Magenprobleme(z.B. Según informan propietarios deperros, suele suceder con bas-tante frecuencia que su perrovomita, sin embargo en la mi-noría de los casos el animal ex-pulsa alimento. Si ve usted quelos músculos abdominales secontraen, entonces se trata deun síntoma de vómito auténticoy el problema tiene que ver conel estómago. Si en la materiavomitada hay alimento sin di-gerir, el problema probable-mente tenga que ver con el esó-fago. Naturalmente el trata-miento en este caso variará se-gún la causa del vómito.

Hay muchos motivos que pue-den causar el vómito de un pe-rro. Las causas del vómitoligero y agudo pueden ser, entreotras: Exceso de ingestión dealimento, ingestión demasiadorápida del mismo, ingestión desustancias no digeribles o inclu-so tóxicas, miedo o enferme-dad. Las causas del vómitocrónico en perros pueden ser,entre otras: alergias a alimen-tos, reacciones a medicamentosdeterminados, problemas con elestómago (p. ej. gastritis, úlceragástrica), enfermedades infec-ciosas (p. ej. parvovirus, mo-quillo), lombrices, enteritis cró-nica, estreñimiento, hepatopías,cáncer. Aparte de los proble-mas en el aparato digestivo, elvómito también puede ser cau-sado por problemas de salud enotras partes corporales del pe-rro, como por ejemplo la infla-mación del páncreas, la perito-nitis, la hepatitis, la insuficien-cia renal y el desequilibriohormonal.

2) If you feed your dog once aday, and your dog gulps downthe food very fast, it is morelikely that she will vomit aftereating. In both of the abovementioned cases try feeding herseveral smaller meals. 3) Make sure that your dog hasno stress or anxiety during eat-ing! For example, many dogsfeel threatened and experienceanxiety if they have to eat inthe presence of other dogs.

When to take your vomitingdog to the vet? In case of chronic vomiting, incase of vomiting more than twoto four times a day, if the vomitis foamy, if there is blood in thevomitus, if the vomitus is foul-smelling, if the dog’s belly isbloated, if the dog is restless orpanting, or seems to be in pain,if she has a fever and is weakand dehydrated.

To check for dehydration, pickup some skin on the back ofyour dog and let it drop. If theskin does not return to its origi-nal position immediately, itmeans that your dog is dehy-drated.

If your dog suffers from mild,acute vomiting but is otherwisefine, try fasting her for 24hours. But withholding food for24 hours from very small dogsor puppies or even all adultdogs may lead to low bloodsugar and this is dangerous.

In all cases of regurgitation,withhold food for a maximumof six hours and administer liq-uid and highly palatable formu-lations such as Viyo.

Austria was the host and or-ganiser of this year’s World

Championships. Excellent or-ganisation and a sold-out sta-dium made a dignified im-pression. The town of Schwa-nenstadt was geared up for thisFCI event, with the local Asso-ciation of German Shepherds incharge.

The impressive opening cere-mony started with the teamsmarching in. Messages ofgreeting by the mayor and byFCI Vice President Karl P. Rei-singer followed, and then thePresident of the FCI Working

The huge attendance of 128dog handlers from 35 differentcountries meant that the eventhad to be held over four days.The numerous spectators reallygot to enjoy canine sport at itsbest. Although the top perform-ers displayed perfect work, thisyear also saw significant pro-gress being made by teamswhich hadn’t to date really gotthe hang of things.

After a tension-packed event,the winners were announced.With 291 points, the new 2009FCI IPO World Champion wasPeter Scherk from Germanywith his Malinois Bendix vomAdlerauge. A hard battle wasfought for second place, andwas taken by Marko Kosken-salo from Finland with his Mal-inois Mecberger Duunari with288 points. Third place wastaken by Edgar Scherkl, alsofrom Germany, with his Mali-nois Cayman vom Adleraugewith 287 points.

During these World Champion-ships, the grade “excellent” wasawarded three times, the grade“very good” 28 times, the grade“good” 60 times, the grade“satisfactory” 13 times and“poor” eight times. The work offive teams was aborted, andseven dogs were disqualifiedbecause the dogs weren’t heldby the dog handlers during theprotection work.

In the country rankings, Ger-many was Team World Cham-pion ahead of Finland andSwitzerland. We had great2009 FCI World Cham-pionships that we will remem-ber fondly for a long time tocome.

All three courses were spectac-ular, thanks also to the – inparts – stretches with extremegradients and inclines. Even onthe flattest going on course I –which only went uphill over astretch of 400 m – it was easyto see after only half the dis-tance which dog possessed thecondition required for Euro-pean Championships.

L’hôte fut représenté par 70lévriers, la Pologne, la Hongrieet la Russie par 24 chacune.Sont venus s’ajouter les étatsbaltes, la Slovaquie et la Serbie.Avec 126 participants sur laligne de départ, les Allemandsont constitué le plus grandcontingent.

Les whippets, soit plus de 130chiens, ont été la race la plusreprésentée, suivis par les salu-kis (94), les barzoïs (72) et leslévriers afghans (69). Les ré-sultats ont donc été très serrés.Après deux courses évaluéespar 6 juges différents et surdeux tracés différents, sur lescinq premiers barzoïs femelles,deux ont chacune remporté 513points et les trois suivantes 510points. Des performances trèssemblables pour lesquelles ilfut très difficile de décider defaçon objective.

Les trois tracés étaient specta-culaires, en partie en raison desmontées et des pentes extrêmes.Toutefois, même sur le par-cours le plus plat, qui compor-tait néanmoins une montée con-tinue sur 400 mètres, on a puconstater dès la moitié de ladistance parcourue quel chiendisposait de la condition phy-sique requise pour un cham-pionnat d’Europe.

Tant les chefs d’équipes desdifférentes nations qu’UweFischer et le président de lacommission des lévriers ontestimé que cet événement fi-gurait parmi les plus beauxchampionnats de coursing deces dernières années. La qualitédes chiens, à quelques excep-tions près, fut absolument dignede cet événement hors pair.

Selbst auf demflachsten Geläuf in Parcours I,das auf einer Länge von 400Metern nur bergauf ging, konn-te man bereits nach der Hälfteder Distanz sehen, welcherHund über die für eine EM er-forderliche Kondition verfügte.

Unos rendi-mientos con unas diferenciastan estrechas en los puestospunteros, que su valoraciónobjetiva resulta difícil.

Los tres recorridos fueron es-pectaculares, en parte tambiéndebido a las pendientes y losdeclives extremos. Incluso en lapista más plana del recorrido I,que iba cuesta arriba a lo largode todos sus 400 metros, ya alcabo de la mitad de la distanciase podía ver qué perro tenía lacondición necesaria para uncampeonato europeo.

Tanto los jefes de equipo de lasnaciones individuales comotambién Uwe Fischer y el Pre-sidente de la Comisión de Le-breles fueron de la opinión queeste evento ha sido una de lascacerías con señuelo por títulosmás bellas de los últimos años.La calidad de los perros se co-rrespondió, a excepción de al-gunos pocos casos, al nivel deeste evento de primerísimoorden.

When most puppies reach 12months of age they have

increased their birth weight by40-70 fold, the Great dane canbe 100 fold and the human spe-cies only 3 fold. This relativelyrapid growth means we have togive accurate advice on feeding.The importance of a lean (leandoes not mean thin) body con-dition during growth was de-monstrated in a lifelong study inLabradors. Puppies that wereoverweight had a greater inci-dence of osteoarthritis due tohip dysplasia and more seriousgeneral health problems overtheir lifetime than littermatesthat had a lean body condition.Many studies show that excesscalcium can predispose to skele-tal growth abnormalities. Pup-pies have to take-up 53% of allcalcium fed to them. This hasled to a recommendation of 0.8to 1.2% calcium in large/ giantbreed puppy diets and to avoidany form of calcium supplemen-tation. Protein is sometimestalked about with respect tobone development. In one study,28.4%, 20.8% and 13.1% pro-tein was looked at in Greatdanes from 6 weeks onwards.Results clearly showed that thedifferences in protein intake hadno demonstrable effect on skele-tal development and that it wasunlikely that high dietary pro-tein has a causative role ingrowth problems. Recommen-dation is an animal based pro-tein diet with 24-32% protein.

ers kept mainly crosses andmixed-breed dogs. Archivesshow that a lieutenant of theRussian Czar’s army founded abreeding kennel in Latvia in theearly 20th century. An associa-tion founded by the Hunters’Guild and focusing on the hunt-ing breeds was active in Latviaup to World War Two. Somesources maintain that this asso-ciation may have been affiliatedwith the FCI, but we have beenunable to document this claim.

After World War Two Latviacame under the Soviet rule anddog breeding was controlled byDOSAAF (a paramilitary orga-nization), working with dogbreeds thought to be suitablefor military service, such asEastern European Sheepdogs,Dobermans, Black Russian ter-riers, Boxers, Collies and otherpopular breeds like GreatDanes and Airedale terriers. Inaddition, a hunting breed asso-ciation existed, focusing onbreeds such as the Laika andRussian spaniels. Soviet rulewas strict in most things in-cluding dogs, and so other or-ganizations were neither desir-able nor even possible.

The birth-year of this associa-tion was 1974, when the para-military DOSAAF ousted somedog breeds that were deemedunsuitable for service. Thus awhole list of breeds – Dober-mans, Great Danes, Boxers andCollies – found themselveswithout an association. Somewere ousted due to their shortcoats and lack of resistanceagainst the cold, others – suchas the Collie – were too kindand gentle to do the job in themilitary service or the Sovietmilitia. Thanks to the relentlessefforts of some fanciers, the Ri-ga municipality gave the greenlight to the Riga AnimalBreeders’ Association, which isthe precursor of the organi-zation we have today. All thedog breeds that did not meet thedemands of the military servicewere now registered with thisnew organization. Over time,new breeds joined – St. Ber-nards, Newfoundlands, the Bo-lognese. The new organizationchanged names over time, asmore fanciers joined – poultrybreeders, animal protection ac-tivists, pigeon breeders and catbreeders. Up to the year 1991the new organization was notallowed to accept either work-

Un ensemble deraces - le doberman, le dogueallemand, le boxer, le collie - sesont ainsi trouvées subitementsans association. Dank desunermüdlichen Einsatzes eini-ger Hundefreunde gab die StadtRiga grünes Licht zur Grün-dung des Tierzuchtvereins Ri-ga, dem Vorläufer unserer heu-tigen Organisation. Alle Hun-derassen, die nicht den Anfor-derungen des Militärdienstesentsprachen, wurden nun indieser neuen Organisation re-gistriert. Im Lauf der Zeit ka-men neue Rassen hinzu – Bern-hardiner, Neufundländer, Bo-logneser. Durch den Beitrittweiterer Züchter und Tier-freunde – Geflügelzüchter,Tierschutzaktivisten, Tauben-züchter und Katzenzüchter –änderte die neue Organisationim Lauf der Jahre ihren Namen.Bis zum Jahr 1991 war es derneuen Organisation nicht ge-stattet, Gebrauchs- und/oder

Después de la Segunda GuerraMundial, Letonia cayó bajo eldominio soviético, y la cría deperros se sometió al control dela DOSAAF (una organizaciónparamilitar), la cual trabajabacon perros que considerabaadecuados para el servicio mili-tar, como, por ejemplo, el Perrode Pastor de Europa del Este, elDobermann, el Terrier RusoNegro, el Boxer, el Collie y o-tras razas populares, como elDogo Alemán y el AiredaleTerrier. Además hubo un clubde caza que se concentraba enrazas como el Laika y el Spa-niel Ruso. El dominio soviéticofue muy severo en la mayoríade los sectores, así también enla cría de perros, y no estuvie-ron permitidas ni fueron posi-bles otras organizaciones.

El momento de la fundación delclub actual fue en 1974, cuandola paramilitar DOSAAF ex-cluyó a algunas razas de perrosque se consideraron no aptaspara el servicio militar. Así, depronto, algunas razas se vierondesprovistas del manto protec-tor que ofrece un club, como elDobermann, el Dogo Alemán,el Boxer y el Collie. Algunasde las razas fueron excluidaspor su pelo corto y su poca re-sistencia al frío, otras, como elCollie, tenían un carácter dema-siado afable y pacífico para lastareas a realizar en el serviciomilitar o en las milicias sovié-ticas. Gracias al incansable es-fuerzo de algunos amantes delperro, la ciudad de Riga auto-rizó la fundación del club decría de animales de Riga, quefue el predecesor de nuestraorganización actual. En estanueva organización se regis-traron todas aquellas razas deperros que no cumplían los re-quisitos del servicio militar. Alo largo del tiempo se fueronañadiendo nuevas razas – elSan Bernardo, el Terranova y elBichón Boloñés. Debido a laafiliación de otros criadores yamantes de los animales, comocriadores de aves, activistas enla defensa de los animales, cria-dores de palomas y criadores degatos, la organización cambióde nombre a lo largo de losaños. The LKF (Latvijas KinologiskaFederacija) officially registeredits name in 1993, and we start-ed our work towards the goal ofjoining the world’s largest dogfanciers’ organization, the FCI.The LKF initially consisted of21 clubs. Independence of thecountry, regained in 1991, andthe development of a new de-mocracy were reflected in thelove of dogs as well – peoplewhose potential breeding ani-mals did not make the LKF re-quirements, which were seem-ingly unnecessarily strict, werefree to leave and form theirown clubs. As the number ofnew clubs grew, so did theirambition, and in 1995 it turnedout that, in addition to ours,several other clubs were in lineto join the FCI.

In retrospect, these were hardtimes for the LKF. Our founderand long-time president Mr.Borshchov passed away, newpresidents came and went, theclub was torn by inner dis-agreements. We shall be evergrateful to FCI Board memberMr. Fischer, for he saw ourpotential and helped us in ouraspiration to join the FCI.

The LKF signed a contract withthe FCI in Luxemburg in 1996,then became an associate mem-ber of FCI in Portugal in 2000,and finally became a full FCImember in Argentina in 2004.

Les proprié-taires de chiens dont les sujetsavec un potentiel de procréationne correspondaient pas aux exi-gences de la LKF - lesquellesétaient selon toute vraisem-blance inutilement trop sévères- purent quitter la LKF et fon-der leurs propres clubs. L'am-bition des nouveaux clubs al-lant de paire avec leur nombreen augmentation, il s'est avéré,en 1995, que d'autres clubs, pa-rallèlement au nôtre, s'effor-çaient de devenir membres dela FCI.

En jetant un regard sur le passé,nous réalisons que ce furent desmoments difficiles pour laLKF. Notre fondateur et pré-sident durant de nombreusesannées, Monsieur Borshchov,décéda ; de nouveaux prési-dents sont venus et s'en sontallés, le club était déchiré pardes luttes intestines. Nousn'oublierons assurément jamaisque Monsieur Fischer, membredu Comité Général de la FCI, aidentifié notre potentiel et nousa apporté son soutien dansnotre souhait de devenir mem-bre de la FCI.

En 1996, la LKF a signé uncontrat de partenariat avec laFCI au Luxembourg ; en 2000,au Portugal, elle est devenuemembre associé de la FCI etenfin, en 2004, elle a été pro-mue membre à part entière dela FCI en Argentine.

Conel número creciente de clubesnuevos también aumentó la am-bición, y en 1995 se constatóque, aparte de nuestro club,también otros clubes aspirabana afiliarse a la FCI.

La retrospectiva nos recuerdaque fueron tiempos difícilespara la LKF. Nuestro fundadory Presidente durante muchosaños, el señor Borshchov, habíafallecido, y se sucedieron todauna serie de nuevos Presiden-tes, que iban y venían, y el clubestuvo desgarrado y desunidodebido a las disputas internas.Nunca olvidaremos y siemprele agradeceremos al señor Fi-scher, miembro del Comité Ge-neral de la FCI, que reconocieranuestro potencial y que noshaya apoyado en nuestro an-helo y objetivo de convertirnosen miembro de la FCI.

1993 wurde der Name LatvijasKinologiska Federacija (LKF)offiziell registriert, und wirnahmen unsere Arbeit mit demZiel auf, Mitglied der welt-größten Organisation für Hun-defreunde – der FCI – zu wer-den. Die LKF bestand anfangsaus 21 Klubs. Die 1991 wie-dererlangte Unabhängigkeit desLandes und die neu wachsendeDemokratie schlugen sich auchbei den Hundefreunden nieder:Hundebesitzer, deren potenziel-le Zuchttiere nicht den Anfor-derungen der LKF – die offen-bar alles in allem unnötigerwei-se zu streng waren – entspra-chen, konnten aus der LKF aus-treten und ihre eigenen Klubsgründen. Mit der steigendenAnzahl der neuen Klubs stiegauch deren Ehrgeiz, und 1995stellte sich heraus, dass sich ne-ben unserem Klub auch einigeandere um die Mitgliedschaftbei der FCI bemühten.

Rückblickend waren dasschwere Zeiten für die LKF.Unser Gründer und langjährigerPräsident, Herr Borshchov wargestorben, neue Präsidenten ka-men und gingen, der Klub wardurch innere Auseinandersetz-ungen zerrissen. Wir werden esdem FCI-VorstandsmitgliedHerrn Fischer nie vergessen,dass er unser Potenzial erkanntund uns in unserem Bestreben,ein Mitglied der FCI zu wer-den, unterstützt hat.

Die LKF unterzeichnete 1996einen Vertrag mit der FCI inLuxemburg, wurde 2000 zumassoziierten Mitglied der FCI inPortugal, und schließlich 2004in Argentinien zum FCI-Voll-mitglied.
