Dear Friends,Welcome to our 15th annual production sale. I want to thank you for your interest in our genetics and appreciate your input and
encouragement to continue seeking the best Simmental genetics available. We are experiencing exciting times in the cattle industry, there is no better time than now to seek the highest performance to add to your next calf crop. Pounds of beef pays the bills in alloperations, our job is to produce the quality you need to advance to the next level of performance. We have expanded our genetic basethrough continued use of artificial insemination and embryo transfer. It is a fairly diverse set of sires used to meet your needs. Theyhave proven themselves in both the U.S. and Canada and are the most sought after in the market. Many high sellers this fall and win-ter have been sired by bulls that we are using. This is the best group of cattle that we have offered for sale. Special thanks to Dean,Brandon and Twila Stroh for their efforts to help us with our embryo program. We welcome again McDonald Farm and Simmental andStrommen Simmentals for their consignments to the sale. All of this could not be done without Eric Ralston and Bryan Haugens will-ingness to get things done right on the home front.
The bulls and heifers have been fed under the guidance of Purina and their representative Ike Kvasnicka, quite a bit for a Norwegianto put up with, but I like the results. The bulls were brought up to a 52 Mcal diet, fed corn, alfalfa, grass hay and corn silage. Thebulls and heifers will be ultrasounded on Jan. 27, check our web site ellingsonsimmentals.com for the results. The bulls will be sementested with scrotal measurements also posted on our web site. Igenity/Geneseek has provided us with the testing for hair color andpolled traits. Most of this data is listed in the footnotes.
We invite you to come to the farm to inspect and evaluate the sale offerings before the sale. If you are unable to come early, checkout the web site and catalog for photos. The auction will be broadcast on the internet by DVAuction, be sure to register to bid beforethe sale to make your sale day go smoother. If you prefer to be on the phone sale day, let us know and we will assign someone to callyou.
Once again, thank you for your interest and support, we would be unable to do this without you. We appreciate your confidence inour breeding program and rest assured we are working hard to breed for your future needs. Let’s enjoy this great run in the cattle mar-ket together, please let us know if there is anything we can do to help you. Good Luck!
God Bless,Terry Ellingson
