Dear Friends,Welcome to our 14th Anniversary sale. We would like to thank you for your interest in our cattle; your encouragement and support
keeps us working hard to provide you with the best Simmental genetics possible. We have increased our embryo offering and broughtin some new genetics to see how they stack up against those in our program. This will give you a broader selection of our high per-formance bulls and heifers, along with some other breed leading pedigrees. The calves raised at home have 300 tattoo numbers andthe embryo calves have 3000 numbers. We would like to thank Arlin VantHof and Dean and Twila Stroh for their efforts to expand ourembryo offering. We welcome once again McDonald Farm and Simmental and Strommen Simmental as guest consignors. I would alsolike to thank my help at home Bryan Haugen and Eric Ralston for their efforts to get the job done right.
I think you will find this sale group to be the best from top to bottom that we have offered. The heifers are the best we have broughtto town, put a halter on them and have some fun then put them to work for you. We are excited to share these genetics with you. Thecattle industry is going to be strong for the next several years; we encourage you to position yourself to take advantage of performancegenetics.
We didn’t feed the bulls any differently than previous years, the gain test was a little longer at 92 days, but the weather in Decembermay have slowed their average daily gain down a bit. They received a TMR ration of ten pounds of grain, 25 pounds of corn silage andsix pounds of alfalfa along with free choice grass hay. The bulls and heifers will be ultra-sounded on Jan 31 with results on the website shortly thereafter. The bulls will also be semen tested with scrotal measurements available. Most bulls were tested for polled, colorand dilution by Igenity, you can see that information on our web site or footnotes.
We invite you to come to the farm to inspect the cattle before the sale, if you are unable to come please check the photos on ourweb site or catalog. It has been a challenge getting that job done, but I only have to think about our friends out west with the earlyseason blizzard to know we don’t have anything to complain about. The auction will be broadcast again on DVAuction, be sure to reg-ister before the sale to make your sale day go smoother. We will also have people available to be on the phone with you if you preferthat method, just let us know.
Once again thank you for your interest and support, we couldn’t do this without you! We appreciate your confidence in our breedingprogram and encourage you to find the best genetics to help you in the years ahead. Together we can enjoy this great ride called thecattle industry! Good Luck!
God Bless,Terry Ellingson

LLSEvery year it is fun to watch how that group of special calves make progress and hereis one of my favorites. He is an embryo calf out of TNT Tanker and O2K donor. His per-formance parallels his phenotype, of the calves raised at home he had the highestadjusted weaning weight, adjusted yearling weight and weight per day of age. He isheterozygous black and homozygous polled, take a good look, he is a game changer!
This homozygous black homozygous polled bull is a son of Y116, a high seller fromour 2012 sale going to Perkin Land and Cattle of Manitoba. He has the highest aver-age daily gain and third highest adjusted yearling weight. He is put together about asgood as you could hope for, long, deep, correct and super thick. He will have a lot offriends on sale day.
