The Great 38!

Hello Division 38! The end of the school year is coming

up fast, and we’re all going into relaxation mode. However, the year is not over yet! That means you still have time for fundraising and service projects! I know (hidden word: springtime) that it’s extremely hard right now, with the weather getting warmer and the sun shining, but stay motivated and continue with your Key Clubbing!

This month’s newsletter is full of fundraising ideas so you and your club can continue serving your community up until the very last day of school! Things may be tough and stressful through these last couple months with AP/IB Exams, finals, homework, sports, musicals (the list could go on and on…) but stay strong and don’t give up! All of your hard work will pay off in the end!

I am looking forward to meeting each and every one of you at my club visitations over the next couple of months and at our upcoming Divisional Council Meeting! Even without meeting you yet, I can already tell you are all amazing, dedicated Key Clubbers who really have a passion for service! Keep up the good work!

Also, good luck to all of you who are in the middle of taking AP and IB exams! I know you will all do great!

What is Key Leader?

Key Leader is a weekend retreat where the main focus is on service leadership. Participants take part in workshops, discussions, and team-building activities to learn leadership skills that will allow them to help make a change in their community!

May Divisional Council Meeting

When: Saturday, May 19th

Time: 12:30 pm – 2:30 pm

Where: Tumwater Historical Park (777 Simmons Lane SW, Tumwater, WA 98501)

It’s a picnic so bring food! (Email me what you will bring please!)

What we will do: icebreakers, fundraiser ideas, upcoming events, officer duties, how to get your members more involved/motivated, open discussion of issues in clubs or advice, eat, bond, and HAVE FUN!

Capital High School! Congratulations to CHS! They

have demonstrated dedication, hard work, leadership, and enthusiasm throughout the month!

They held a Downtown Clean-Up service project this month and also worked at the Kiwanis Garden for Kiwanis One Day! CHS has also regularly contacted the Lieutenant Governor, answered last month’s riddle, found the hidden word, and sent in their contact information!

Keep up the good work CHS!

Fundraising and Service Ideas

Bracelets! Make and sell bracelets to raise money to donate to a cause!

OR have a Children’s Craft Day!

Bake Sale! Get together and bake

cookies, cupcakes or other sweets to sell to raise money! Then, donate the money to a

cause/organization of your choice!

Park Clean-Up! Help keep your local parks looking great by getting a group of Key Clubbers to help pick up trash or plant new flowers at a nearby

park!

Cancer Walk! Show your support for

cancer by hosting a cancer walk at your school or forming a team for an

already existing cancer walk like Relay for Life!

Restaurant Take-Over! Ask businesses or food places in your area if they do a restaurant take over fundraiser or have a coupon booklet to sell! This is a great way to introduce people to new places to eat in addition to raising money for your club!

Community Garden! Plant and tend to a

community garden! Then donate all the grown food

to a local food bank!
