HELLO FROM YOUR LTGHello Division 28!I honestly cannot believe a monthhas passed by already since I’ve mademy last newsletter but here we are inthe start of May. I want to say, first of all, good luck to all you testers out there. I know it’s a struggle to even walk inside the school sometimes butwe only have two more weeks atmost for those IB candidates! Moving on, looking forward in the month of May, I’m excited for all the events we have planned! I’m definitely looking forward to having both club level and district level interactions increase for our division and that will remain my main goal for the month. At the same time, please do not hesitate to contact me! I know some schools I have contacted numerous times, but others I still have not built the strongest relationship with. And for those who have great divisional and district level ideas, I want to hear them. The other Lieutenant Governors and I are here to help you accomplish your goals in Key Club no matter how big or small the project is. Finally, I want to say congratulations to SARA REED and ERIKA KUMAR for their initiative so early into the year!

Love,Cyssi NgoLieutenant Governor of Division 28

KEY CLUB 101

Page 13: Division 28 | July 2015 Newsletter

In the midst of serene nature and fluctuating weather

conditions lies the great Pacific Northwest District (PNW). The

Pacific Northwest is geographically the largest district of Key

Club International. The district spans from western Canada to

northern California; with Alaska, Washington, Oregon, and

the pan-handle of Idaho in between. The Pacific Northwest

encompasses nearly 1.8 million square miles and includes

over 300 clubs that operate under 44 divisions. Through rain

or shine, snow or hail, Key Clubbers in the PNW dedicate

countless hours to their communities and international, and

we are always Proud ‘N’ Willing to serve!

ELIMINATE WEEKEvery child deserves to be healthy and

happy. This Eliminate Week, celebrate the children in your life and

do something for the Eliminate Project. All it takes is US$1.80 to save a mother and all of her future babies from maternal and neonatal tetanus.

Page 15: Division 28 | July 2015 Newsletter

• 1 baby dies every 11 minutes• $1.80 is enough to save a mother and her future

babies • 160 babies die from MNT each day • A series of three shots of vaccine = immunity to

tetanus

OFFICER OF THE MONTH

MEMBER OF THE MONTH

ERIKA KUMAR & SARA REED

CARMEN HUANG

Both Erika and Sara have dedicated their first month and a half in going beyond their expected roles and participating successfully on the District level. With both deadlines and numerous requirements, both have successfully met beyond my expectations! As well, their positions are never disregarded as they also take part in Skyline Key Club. Congrats!

Message from your president: She has helped a lot with the past few volunteer events. Even when she couldn't get a ride, she still managed to show up at the events by riding the bus. Personally, I admire this a lot since it's not everyday people are willing to ride the bus to help others.
