Entech Solar

By concentrating the sun 20X, reduces silicon requirements by about 93% compared to traditional PV

systems.

The New SolarVolt™ panel is much smaller (~50% of area, ~8% of volume) and lighter (~25% of

weight) than the previous modules

By using smaller lenses, the aluminum housing provides all waste heat rejection, eliminating the need

for a heavy and expensive heat sink.

By using a glass window to protect the Stretched Lenses from the elements, thin acrylic Lensfilm

replaces thick laminated acrylic lenses

SolFocus partnered with EPC Bechtel Power Corporation and developer Sol Orchard to complete a one

megawatt high concentrator photovoltaic (CPV) power plant for Nichols Farms in Hanford, California.

The SolFocus installation will produce 2.244 million kilowatt hours (kWh) in the first year, which is roughly

70 percent of the processing facility electricity demand.

The power plant, located on six acres adjacent to the pistachio processing facility, consists of 119 8.8

kilowatt SolFocus SF-1100S CPV systems.

The plant was designed and built by Bechtel, and is now connected to the regional electrical grid serviced

by SoCal Edison.
