Understandably there are few students at school today due to the severe weather and fire situation. At this stage the school will remain open for the entire week. I sincerely hope that everyone is safe and well. Our staff have been busy revising and updating our Emergency Management Plan and Bushfire Response Procedures. These updated documents are available on the school website, located under Rules and Policies. The P&C will also post the Bushfire Response Procedures on their facebook page. Can I remind everyone that in the unlikely case of an evacuation from our school site the nominated off-site evacuation point is Cavanbah Centre, Ewingsdale – see website for details.
Don’t forget this Friday we are going to hold our special yarning circle opening ceremony at 1.45pm. Aine and Delta will be our special guests and be here throughout the day working with the kids on Bundjalung language and culture as well as learning and performing Aine’s song ‘In This House’. Delta will be staging an Arakwal smoking ceremony for the official opening. All most welcome to attend this very special Coorabell event.
Year 3 and Year 4 have embarked on their 2 day Lake Ainsworth excursion. They have a jam packed land and aquatic schedule to look forward to. Thank you Mr Keylock and Mrs Cottrill for organising this excursion.
Thank you Stella (Pixie and Hunter’s mum) and Emma (Asher’s mum) for the delicious lunch and treat last Friday.
Many thanks
Geoff Coghlan

Are you able to support a rural community facing serious challenges due to the ongoing drought with a food donation? Lets try and bring a smile to their faces this Christmas with food donations for Christmas hampers. The Bangalow community and Lions Club are
creating 120 Christmas Day hampers for the school families and looking for donations of non-perishable Christmas Day foods for these hampers. Any donations of cans of ham, salmon, fruit, veg, jams, preserves, lollies, biscuits, cartons of long life milk, custard and Christmas puddings. Nuts and crackers, Muesli bars etc - I'm sure you get the idea. You can drop off small donations at the school office, for larger donations email the P&C and we can organise a pick up. All donations to be received by the 14th of November please.
