Consent Judgment between Rajan Mahtani and Mutembo Nchito

In 2012, the controversial Zambian banker Rajan Mahtani entered into a consent judgement concerning a debt owed by Mutembo Nchito, Nchima Nchito, Fred M'membe and others. The judgment in essence forgave a debt of US$4.2 million related to the bankruptcy of Zambian Airways.

The consent judgement has become an issue of controversy, as only a few weeks before Nchito was gifted with this $4.2 million, he entered a Nolle Prosequi against Mahtani, who was facing criminal charges of forgery.

The matter is currently being investigated by a special tribunal.
