- A shallow and deep alluvium well designedin conjunction with each other to monitor the full saturated thickness, were installed at location MW-1 since the depth to bedrock was greater than 40 feet and the saturated thickness was greater than25 feet.
- Drilling activities tentatively scheduled to be completed during the week of 09/19/88.
2. Topographic Map- Received finalized topographic maps from
Howard R. Green Co. 08/15/88
- Copy of topographic map with 100 ft grid layout (used for EM and Siesmic Refraction Survey) and without 100 ft grid layout are enclosed
- Final well locations will be transposed onto the topographic map subsequent to drilling activities

3. Drilling Water- Salsbury Laboratories collected a sample of the water to be
used during drilling on 07/18/88) '
- The sample was sent, under chain-of-custody, to the Hygienic Laboratory and was analysed for TC1/TAL
parameter and nitrate
- Analytical results are enclosed
4. Site Access Agreements- City of Charles City is obtaining perpetual right-of-entry
agreements for wells located west of the Shaw Avenue
Site.
5. Private Well Inventory- City of Charles City conducted a door-to-door private well
inventory survey with a telephone follow-up if theresident was not at home. 08/31/88
- Private wells within one-half mile of the Site, bounded on the west by the Cedar River, are located on the
attached figure.
- The status and use of the identified wells is being determined
and will be forwarded to the EPA when available.
