“No Fear”First message in series:

I. Today’s Tweet from God (Isaiah 41:10, NCV) So don't worry, because I am with you. Don't be afraid, because I am your God.

II. The Prevalence of Fear A. Media

B. Family influence

C. Genetic predisposition

III. The Passage on Fear vs. Faith (2 Timothy 1:5-7 NCV) I remember your true faith. That faith first lived in your grandmother Lois and in your mother Eunice, and I know you now have that same faith. This is why I remind you to keep using the gift God gave you when I laid my hands on you. Now let it grow, as a small flame grows into a fire. God did not give us a spirit that makes us afraid but a spirit of power and love and self-control.

* The fear-based life is built on avoidance; the faith-based life is built on action.

IV. The Practice of a Fear-based Life (Avoidance) A. Procrastination

B. Denial

C. Indecision

V. The Practice of a Faith-based Life (Action) (2 Timothy 1:7, NCV) God did not give us a spirit that makes us afraid but a spirit of power and love and self-control.

A. Power

B. Love

C. Self-discipline
