Modular Wiring enables the easy re-use of wiring when

re-configuring workstation power distribution, without the waste

associated with hard wiring. This not only saves time and

increases productivity during on-site installation, but gives the

designer maximum flexibility for future expansion.

Floor Boxes and Floor Outlets are used for power, telephone, data and

Audio/Visual distribution in all types of floors including; wood,

concrete and access floors. Arguably the largest range available in

Australia.

Bus Bar is for use under floor and overhead where high density

power reticulation is required. Allows greater flexibility of layout

design and typically can be laid at a rate of 50m per hour.

Retractable, Supply Post is a product specifically designed for the

supply of power to areas such as shopping precincts, aircraft

hangers and amphitheatres. They have a load bearing flush floor

finish when not in use and can be raised up to gain access to

services such as electricity, industrial air and water.

Screed Trunking under floor installation systems serve wiring into the

floor. The desired flexibility is used to appropriate screed-covered

or screed-concise building service systems.

Power Pole is a simple way of distributing power, data and voice.

Running from ceiling to floor the power pole comes in a natural

anodised finish.

Dali Lighting is the latest 5 pole Connector with a wide range of

accessories, providing the most advanced & competitive softwired

lighting wiring system in the industry. The CMS 'Quick-Flex'

system has been engineered to provide cost & labour savings as

an alternative to traditional hardwiring using interchangeable

modular components. The system offers portability & versatility in

lighting applications as components are re-usable time after time.

Installation Tools is a product range that is used for running &

retrieving cable. It is flexible enough to go around corners and up

and down walls through small openings. This products comes with

a range of accessories.

Skirting Duct is our stylish new range and is a simple solution of

distributing power, data & communication around the entire

workspace. Our skirting duct comes with all the accessories you

will need for an easy installation.

CMS Electracom commenced business in 1979

supplying custom made cable harnesses and wiring

assemblies for the data and electrical industry.

CMS SOFTWIRE INTRO

The changing safety standards in modular wiring

connectors. In October 2003 a new Australian / New Zealand Standard

was published AS/NZS61535.1:2003.

Primarily an international standard developed by the IEC,

Australia and New Zealand have modified it for our markets

and expedited its release.

AS/NZS61535.1:2003 initially ran in tandem with AS/

NZS3131:1995 and in October 2006 AS/NZS3131:1995

expired.

Main areas of difference between the two standards include

an endurance test where the installation couplers are

subjected to a 13 day cycling test of 30 minutes on / 30

minutes off at 125% of full rated current. Now if an

installation coupler does not comply to IP4X they are

required to have a tool only removable safety end cap and

cannot be compatible with different modular wiring

systems or AS/NZ3112 plugs and sockets.

All CMS Electracom connectors comply with IP4X.

CMS Electracom have designed their own AS/NZ61535.1

connector system. In September 2002 we were issued with

a Certificate of Suitability (CS.02352V) for this system.

CMS was one of the first companies in the world to release

a 61535 connector system to market and we pride

ourselves on being at the forefront in design innovation.

The new SW18 series of auto switched socket outlets can

be plugged together thus giving multiples of two or four

outlets. The SW18 comes complete with integral AS/

NZS61535.1 connectors. Additionally CMS is also able to

supply custom manufactured modules in Plastic, Steel or

Aluminum for above or below desk mounting.

Connectivity is the key to flexibility in modern wiring

systems. At the heart of softwire is an all new fully

shrouded and interlocking 20amp connector system. This

system is easy to install, yet safe; and as compliance with

IP4X is met, the connection and disconnection without the

use of a special tool or screwdriver is permissible.

Incorporated into the connector is a molded positive

latching mechanism on both sides of the connector

preventing unintentional release and will only disengage

with a deliberate action. All components are totally

re-useable.

SW17 - INTRO

The SW17 Series power module has integrally moulded

installation couples complying with AS/NZS61535. They

also comply with IP4X and hence there is no require-

ment to use tool only removable safety end caps.

The SW17 series offers significant installation benefits

as no tools are required for thin or thick panel

mounting. This speed of installation offers excellent

labour savings. The SW17 series is a 10Amp double

pole, auto switched outlet.

The SW17 series is covered by the Chief Electrical

POWER RAIL INTRO

CMS offers 8 different profiled stylish power rails, the

Wedge, Harmony, Premier, Satelite, Zeus and Athena rails.

The above desk rail range have been designed to provide

power & data to the desk top for commercial & industrial

applications.

Designed to be mounted at the rear of the work surface or

on function wall. They are available with desk clamp

brackets and also a standoff bracket for when retrofitting

against a screen or without mounting brackets to facilitate

in a basket or tray.

Cable entry is flexible; from the side, the back or

underneath. This allows freedom for the workspace

designer and ease of fitment for the on-site installer.

Cable used is in the form of standard softwiring flexible

cable and can be fitted with either softwiring connections or

One of the most significant sources of waste and expense is ‘standby power’. This is power that is consumed by ap-pliances even when they are sitting idle. When appliances remain in an active status while not being used, for exam-ple monitors, mobile phone chargers, task lights, print-ers and scanners they all consume "standby power". The CMS Master Slave Energy Saving Power rail will reduce the consumption of "standby power" that is used by these peripherals connected to the power rail. This is the easy and efficient way to save power and reduce your power bill. How does it work? The CMS Master Slave Energy Saving power rail is fully automatic and does not need any pre-setting or additional remote controls. Plug in the primary appliance, this would either be the screen or the computer box (CPU) to the MASTER socket. Then connect your peripherals to the controlled SLAVE sockets - these would typically include mobile phone chargers, task lights, gaming consoles, mon-itors, printers or a scanner. When the item connected to the MASTER socket is shut down the power board senses this and automatically turns the power supplied to the four controlled SLAVE sockets off. This eliminates the wasted power that would have been consumed by these appliances being left on while not being used. Likewise - when the primary appli-ance is reactivated (turned on) the power to the other con-

CMS introduces our 240v 30 milliamp 20amp softwired ‘RCD protection unit’ with integral locking clips for increased safety.

The unit was developed to provide protection from harmful or fatal electrical shock while using electrical equipment in the

working environment. The device is intended to cut power to electrical outlets and appliances down stream of the unit in the

event of electrical failure. They can be incorporated in the wiring system to protect individual workstations or clusters of work

areas.

Node Boxes By using simple node boxes softwire provides flexible power distribution, right from the electrical distribution board to each desk. Node boxes can be fitted in a raised floor or ceiling void. They provide maximum flexibility where there is a requirement

to supply high power density at the work area. Node boxes offer customers quick and easy reconfiguration of workstations and the
