Counselor in trainingThis program is for teens ages 14-16 who want to learn the in’s and out’s of summer camp in

preparation for future employment. Teens must meet/submit the following criteria: must have a minimum of a B average, copy of most recent report card, letter of recommendation from

two teachers, can commit to five weeks of camp, working 6-8 hour shifts daily and successfully complete a background screening. This is a free program & volunteers are placed at camp

locations based on need. Selected participants will be paired with camp staff and will assist the group in their daily activities. Limited CIT positions are available.

SCHOLARSHIPS!

Payment Plan: Payment plans start February 8th and are for anyone who is interested. The total amount of registration fees are divided into 3 payments with the final payment due by May 13th. Other guidelines apply. Inquire at registration for more information.

Kids Camp Scholarship: This is a 50% scholarship that covers traditional day camp only. Applicants must be Charlotte County residents and be employed over 20 hours a week or in school at least part time. There is required documentation that must be submitted along with the scholarship application. Money is awarded to those who qualify on a first come first served basis. Those awarded scholarship can also participate in the payment plan. Applications are available at South County Regional Park in Punta Gorda and must be returned there when completed. Applications will be available February 8th and only completed application packets will be accepted.

Registration: Registration is available on line and in person. In person registration can be done at South County Regional Park or Harold Ave Recreation Center. Online registration is available at charlottecountyfl.gov. Parent Meeting: Join us May 26 from 6 p.m. - 7 p.m. at Port Charlotte Beach Park for the parent meeting. We will discuss the guidelines of our program, what our expectations are of you, what you can expect from us and you and your child will get to meet the summer camp staff! Your presence will help you be informed and ready for the first day.

Field Trips: Field trips are included in the cost of camp and all campers in attendance on field trips days are required to travel to the trip location. If there is a field trip you do not wish your child to attend you must make alternate arrangements for their care that day. There are no staff or campers left behind on site. We schedule age appropriate field trips and some locations will require an additional waiver for participation.

LUNCH IS SERVED!!!We are pleased to announce we will be serving lunch to all campers

this summer at no additional charge. 2 snacks and additional drinks are still required daily from home.
