About the NDPC

Page 7: Chang e to Train ing Chang e NDPC News and Event s Home page header.

NDPC instructors and trainers reside across the nation. This extensive network promotes a culture of preparedness by bringing high-quality, consistent training directly to jurisdictions across the nation. This network is strengthened by NDPC’s train-the-trainer programs, in which individuals are authorized to teach courses in their area.

• Suggest putting the current NDPC newsletter in HTML format instead of or in addition to PDF.

– List headlines & first few sentences of each article so that viewers can click to access the entire article.

• Also, currently, the most recent edition, Spring 2013 is at the bottom, I would reverse this so that the most recent is at the top left side.

• Suggest adding a sidebar article on NCBRT’s Diffusion of Innovation project. See below:

Diffusion of Innovation: Measuring NDPC’s Effect on the Nation’s Preparedness

Based on research at Louisiana State University, the training of one course participant results in a total of three individuals trained. This diffusion of innovation concept is important as NDPC strives to instill a culture of preparedness across the country.

Diffusion of innovation focuses on learning transfer, which can help NDPC create and deliver training that improves emergency preparedness policy across the country.

Courses are offered through each of the seven consortium members. Read more about each member’s area of expertise.

Courses are designed to meet the needs of all responders, including traditional first responders, non-governmental organizations, and the private sector. NDPC offers courses for all responder disciplines and all levels of experience.

When feasible, courses are made available online or by video conference; however, many courses require hands-on training and interactive discussion. Courses

Each consortium member provides specialized curricula and together, the NDPC addresses all of the National Preparedness Goal’s 31 Core Capabilities.
