STEWARDSHIP THOUGHT
Elijah recognized the voice of God not in the strong and heavy wind, not in the earthquake, and not in the fire, but in a tiny whispering sound. May we find enough quiet in our clamorous world to hear His voice and discern what He is calling us to do and be.

From today’s Gospel reading: When the disciples saw Jesus walking on the sea they were terrified. "It is a ghost," they said and they cried out in fear.
Reflection: It doesn’t take much imagination these days to identify with those terrified disciples as we face the deadly storm of the pandemic, with its indiscriminate power to kill, sweeping across our world.
So, we ask ourselves: - Do we feel like those disciples, victims in the pandemic storm’s clutches? - Do we look into the midst of the storm and wonder if Jesus is just a ghost, a product of our fear-driven imagination? - Can we hear him say to us what he said to his frightened disciples, "Take courage, it is I, do not be afraid."
Compassionate and Loving Father, In the face of confusion and concern, impart to us the calm of your presence.
In You allow us to find hope and healing. Be with those who serve the sick and give them Your caring hands. Be with those who lead and give them Your Spirit of wisdom. Be with those
who have fallen ill and give them Your comforting heart. Wrap your arms around our world and hold us in your love. Allow us at this time of trial to then serve as instruments of that love to all we meet. We ask this in Your Name. Amen.
