Carole Stott, Chair AoC Charitable Trust

Martin Doel, Chief Executive Association of Colleges

Foreword Following the success of the silent auction which we piloted last November and which raised around £2,000 to provide grants to further education students, we are delighted to launch a second auction to raise money to add to that fund.

The Trustees of the AoC Charitable Trust have agreed that the beneficiaries of the grant fund will be the AoC Gold Awards’ “Future Stars” – students who are at the same college as the Gold Award winner, studying a similar course with similar career aspirations. These Future Stars will be given the opportunity to apply for a grant that will enable them to participate in an activity which would support their career aspirations, enhance their employability and would provide them with an experience which would be over and above what they might expect to receive as part of their course.

The successful Future Stars will be presented with their grant cheque as part of the AoC Gold Awards presentation ceremony which will be held at the House of Commons in June by the Gold Award winners.

We are extremely grateful for the generosity of all the organisations and individuals who have donated items to the auction to support this worthy cause. We have items that will appeal to colleges as a whole, their staff, whether in a professional or personal capacity, and the wider general public.

We hope that some of the wide range of items on offer in this catalogue are of interest to you, your college or even your friends and family. Please help us to publicise our auction to raise more money to support our sector’s Future Stars and grow the grant fund to enable us to carry this initiative into future years.
