    Procedure1. Theaggregateiscompactedinthreelayers,eachlayerbeinggiven100blowsusing

    thestandardtampingrodatarateof2blows/secondbyliftingtherod5cmabovethesurfaceoftheaggregateandthenallowingittofallfreely.

    2. Theblowsareuniformlydistributedoverthesurfaceoftheaggregate.3. Aftercompactingthethirdlayer,thecylinderisfilledtooverflowingandexcess

    materialisremovedoffwithtempingrodasastraightedge.4. Theaggregatewithcylinderisthenweighed.Threeseparatedeterminationsaremade

    andmeanweightoftheaggregateinthecylinderiscalculated.
