Affirmative tú Commands To tell a person to do something, use an affirmative command. Tú commands are used with friends or family. Irregular forms: Remember that hacer, ser and ir are irregular in the tú command forms. hacer --> haz ej: Haz la tarea. ser --> sé ej: Sé buen estudiante. ir --> ve ej: Vete a tu cuarto.

These five tú command verbs have forms that are also irregular. Decir To talk about what someone says, use the verb, DECIR. The verb DECIR means “to say” or “to tell.” It has several irregular forms in the present tense. DECIR – to say / to tell Yo digo la verdad Nosotros decimos muchas cosas Tú dices el vocabulario Vosotros decís el alfabeto Él dice los números Ellas dicen las direcciones ej: Yo digo el poema. Note: that decir que means “to say that.” ej: Mi madre dice que en la zapatería hay muchos zapatos.

Prepositional Phrases to describe location When you talk about where things are located, use prepositions. Here are so

me common ones. delante (de) – in front (of) - El taxi está delante del correo. a la izquierda (de) – to the left (of) – La farmacia está a la izquierda de la carnicería. a la derecha (de) – to the right (of) – La panadería está a la derecha de la joyería. entre – between – La zapatería está entre la farmacia y la pastelería enfrente (de) – facing – El carro está delante del banco. lejos (de) – far (from) – El aeropuerto está lejos de Folsom. cerca (de) – near (to); close (to) – La tienda está cerca del restaurante. al lado (de) – beside; next to – El café está al lado de la papelería. detrás (de) – behind – El gimnasio está detrás de la cafetería.

Note: Use DE when the preposition is followed by a specific location.
