The items in these bills of quantities are to be read and pricedin conjunction with and the descriptions regarded as amplifiedby the Model Preambles for Trades as recommended andpublished by the Association of South African QuantitySurveyors, 1997 edition, and no claim arising from brevity ofdescription of items fully described in the said Model Preamblesfor Trades will be entertained
5 These bills of quantities are in Multiple Procurement format i.e.the "Wet Trades" - earthworks, concrete, formwork andreinforcement, precast concrete, masonry, waterproofing andsub-surface drainage are fully measured and the subsequenttrades are budgetary allowances
7 The budgetary allowances allocated for subsequent tradesincluded in this document will be separately procured, based onmultiple procurement of nominated subcontractors during theconstruction period
13 The area of the works to be occupied by the contractor, anyrestriction on the area and the limit of access or exit will bepointed out to the contractor by the principal agent on handingover of the site

63 PROPRIETARY BRANDED PRODUCTSThe contractor shall take delivery of, handle, store, use applyand/or fix all proprietary branded products in strict accordancewith the manufacturers' instruction after consultation with themanufacturer's authorised representative
Should overtime be required to be worked for any reasonwhatsoever, the costs of such overtime are to be borne by thecontractor unless the principal agent has specifically authorisedin writing, prior to the execution thereof, that costs for suchovertime are to be borne by the employer.
At the end of each week the contractor shall provide theprincipal agent with a written record, in schedule form, reflectingthe number and description of tradesmen and labourersemployed by him and all subcontractors on the works each day.
The contractor shall provide a Health & Safety plan uponrequest and comply with all regulations and applicable laws. The contractor must comply with the latest addition of the actas no claims in this regard will be recognised.
Transportation of workers must not be on open vehicles. Thecontractor must provide mini-bus / bus transport from site to thenearest taxi rank for the duration of the contract
