Golf Greens & Turf HealthFor golf greens to stay in tip top conditions for best game play they need constant attention to thrive. They need plenty of sun, water, good soil and a great starting turf however, this is often not enough to guarantee long term greens.

Areas such as Humidity, heat stroke, soggy, shade, frost, pests and diseases all have a critical impact and can vary right across a gold course with each hole requiring different management methods.

To manage turf, you often have to treat above and below the turf line for greater success.

Turf Jet – Above the turfThe Turf Jet was designed to keep airflow across the top of a golf green using Super Lamina Flow Technology coupled with airwave technology to oscillate the throw of air from side to side to maximise greater area coverage and mimicking natures natural wind movement. and can assist:

Hydronic System – Below the TurfTurf management under the green helps to provide the turf with optimum growing conditions. Providing ground warmth during the cooler months, or in a shady nook or provide cooling over the summers direct sun’s rays or both.

The Turf Jet Hydronic System consists of:

Toyesi reverse-cycle heater-chiller heat pump Water pump(s). Supply pipes & network of flexi-tube Water holding tank – above ground or submerged for

insulation and more visually pleasing application. Temperature monitoring equipment Power and water supply will be required.

The Hydronic system can provide heating or cooling to maintain ideal root zone temperatures by pumping warm or cool water from the holding tank to the green via supply pipes. The water then circulates under the roots of the green through a network of flexi-tubing and finally back to the holding tank.

Advantages of a Hydronic SystemBy providing both heat and/or cooling to your greens you can address a lot of issues including:

Turf, Lawn StressWhen any living plant is subject to long term stress they become susceptible to diseases and pests, especially areas that are prone to constant under foot damage, dryness, frost, humid or damp conditions are at a higher risk.

Care should be taken to not allow long term, and sometimes non-reparable, damage to set in. It only takes a few weeks or even few days to ruin an entire crop or bring an expensive golf course to the look of being un-kept & unloved.
