Renewable and Nonrenewable Resources

Page 2: 6.2 bio

Renewable Resource

• Resource that can regenerate quickly and that is replaceable.

Page 3: 6.2 bio

Nonrenewable Resource

• Resource that cannot be replenished by natural processes.

Page 4: 6.2 bio

Sustainable Development

• Using natural resources at a rate that does not deplete them.

Page 5: 6.2 bio

Soil Erosion

• Wearing away of surface soil by water and wind.

Page 6: 6.2 bio

Desertification • In areas with dry climates, a process

caused by a combination of poor farming practices, overgrazing, and drought that turns productive land into desert.

Page 7: 6.2 bio

Deforestation

• Destruction of forests.
