Pura. Riding on the strong sup- port and confidence of com- mon masses, Ravinder Raina, claimed that the enthusiasm among the vot- ers in J&K reflects that BJP will sweep the Lok Sabha elections in J&K. BJP State President Ravinder Raina, while addressing the massive gatherings, said that this is the real India, which has made its intentions quite clear by now, that there will be landslide victory for BJP's candidates in all the Parliamentary Constituencies. Raina, said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi worked with the clear mind for the sole motto to develop India in every field. The results are evident in Nation's economy, defence and all the fields. The inten- tion is quite clear, the Nation has to be progressed on the road to the most mod- ern and developed country in the world. Hitting out at other politi- cal parties, Raina said that they will not be able to open their account. Congress, he said that today is a rejected party, which is desperate for its survival in whole of India. He also said that NC, PDP have lost their ground in the state, as they always tried to hoodwink the public of state on one pretext or another. Ravinder Raina, stressed that only Bharatiya Janata Party has the ability and the will to provide a strong deci- sive and stable government under the leadership of PM Modi ji at the Centre. He said that Modi government has succeeded to generate confidence on the Indian political system among the masses in a long tunnel filled with darkness, which was unleashed by successive Congress led governments at the Centre. Raina, asked the masses to vote enmass in favour of BJP Parliament candidates to strengthen the hands of PM Modi, so as to develop every area of J&K with the opening of new avenues of employment and moderniza- tion to provide ocean of opportunity to every person. STATE TIMES NEWS POUNI: Apni Mandi building constructed and completed in village Puriya of Block Pouni during 2008, at a cost of over Rs 18 lakh, is lying vacant and unutilised for the last over a decade thus putting the exchequer to a great loss on one hand and making the users to suffer unnecessari- ly for such a long period. The progressive farmers of the block Pouni strongly criticised that they were made to suffer recurring loss due to non-sale of their agricultural and horticul- ture products in the absence of a proper outlet and on the other hand the Apni Mandi building pro- vided by the Government in the block remained vacant for over a decade due to the reasons best known to the constructing agency. Sources revealed that the building in question was constructed by Horticulture Planning and Marketing wing and was not handed over to the con- cerned department after formal inauguration. The lack of care and mainte- nance of this vacant build- ing for such a long period has caused damage which required further investment on its repair. The Mandi which should have been put into use immediately on its comple- tion for the purpose it was constructed to ensure the fair use of the Government money but on the contrary it was kept vacant and unused. They said that the Government money to the tune of Rs 18 lakh remained blocked for such a long peri- od causing great loss to the exchequer. The progressive farmers of Pouni Block including Bhajan Singh, Harjeet Singh, Gurdev Singh and others have appealed to the District Development Commissioner (DDC) Reasi to look into the case and issue suitable instructions to the concerned depart- ments to put this building into use so that the Mandi is made functional for the ben- efit of progressive farmers. Decade old Apni Mandi building lying unutilised STATE TIMES NEWS BHADARWAH: In it's effort to increase the green cover and provide a natural habitat to the inmates of the rare black cedar forest of Bhadarwah valley in Chenab region of Jammu and Kashmir, Forest department claimed to have planted 5 lakh saplings during the ongo- ing plantation season with special impetus on institutional plantation. The department, which started an ambitious and mega drive in December last year with an aim to plant as many as 5 lakh saplings of var- ious species till March this year in 6 Forest Divisions of Chenab Circle by involving differ- ent sections of society and also by initiating institutional plantation in a big way for the first time, claimed to have achieved their goal well before the deadline - which is 31st March. As part of the ongoing programme to pro- mote institutional plantation, Bhadarwah Forest Division carried out a plantation drive by involving students and faculty of the Campus in presence of Conservator Forest Chenab Circle, T.B Singh. DFO Bhadarwah, Khalid Amin Mehta emphasised the need of plantation, keeping in view the climate change scenario and increas- ing pollution levels in urban areas. He impressed upon school children that every sapling planted should be taken care of for bet- ter survival rate. "Beside planting large number of Deodar saplings, Kail and Chinar trees at the vital locations and fruit trees were planted in the higher reaches of Forest, so that the wild ani- mals should not stray in the habitats in search of food, which will eventually help to minimise the Man-Animal conflict," DFO added. On the occasion, Renowned Environmentalist and Retired CCF Dr Rajeshver Singh Jasrotia, CF T.B.Singh, DFO Khalid Amin Mehta, and Dr Neeraj Sharma addressed the students at Lal Ded Auditorium. Forest Deptt plants 5 lakh saplings in Chenab Circle Officials of Forest Department planting a sapling at Bhadarwah. STATE TIMES NEWS DODA: As part National Deworming campaign, the District Health Society Doda under the guidance of Chief Medical Officer Doda Dr Mushtaq Ahmed Shah organised a series of pro- gramme at AIER Public School Dod, Royal Academy Islamia High School Ghat (Doda), Educational Institutions and Anganwadi Centres of the District on Wednesday. The main func- tion was held at AIER School Doda under the chairman- ship of Dy CMO Doda Dr Rakesh Bhagat. Speaking on the occasion, Dy CMO Doda Dr Bhagat said that deworming is done to cure the infected children and also put an end to multi- ple other causes like anaemia, mental impair- ment, malnourishment etc which stimulates worm infec- tions, adding that these con- ditions are serious threat to the kids and can be ruinous for the education and health of the kids. Similar kind of programme was also held at Royal Academy Islamia High School Ghat under the chair- manship of BMO Ghat Dr Mohammad Fareed Bhat. Speaking on the occasion, BMO Ghat Dr Mohammad Fareed Bhat said that the National Deworming Day is to be observed with an objec- tive to free children from worm infections and to deworm them from 1-19 years at Schools and Anganwadi Centres. On this occasion, students were given the tablets of Albendazole whereas the left out chidren if any will be cov- ered during the mop up round scheduled for 26th of March 2019. The programme was attended by doctors, para- medical staff of Health Department besides the Staff and Students of AIER Public School Doda and Royal Academy Islamia High School Ghat. STATE TIMES NEWS KISHTWAR: Jammu and Kashmir Campaign & Election Management Committee, Member and Former Minister, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori on Wednesday demanded three month free ration for snow bound areas of Chenab region viz Doda, Kishtwar and Ramban Districts. Saroori in a statement said that due to heavy snowfall in last two months, the agricul- ture, horticulture and other biannual crops suffered mas- sive damages. He said that several houses and Shelters of poor people living in remote areas also got damaged and required immediate relief and compensation. He has urged upon the gov- ernment to order issuance of three month free ration to the people of Chenab region as per the past practice wherein suc- cessive Congress governments provide relief to the people who suffered losses to agricul- ture, horticulture, live stokes due to drought of adverse weather condition like snow tsunami, floods added that UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi along with the then Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh personally visited the snowbound areas of Kashmir, Bhaderwah and even Marwah following mas- sive snowfall in 2005. Vidushi from SMVDU brings laurels STATE TIMES NEWS REASI: Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Reasi of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Jammu (SKUAST-J) organised an awareness-cum-training pro- gramme on Protection of Plant Varieties and Farmers Right Act (PPV&FRA) on Wednesday at KVK, Reasi campus which was attended by a large number of farmers of the area. The programme was inau- gurated by I/C, Sr.Scientist- cum-Head of KVK, Reasi, Dr.Banarsi Lal. In the inau- gural session he welcomed the participants and gave a detailed view on protection of plant varieties and farm- ers right act,2001. Dr.Sanjay Kaushal, scien- tist said the farmers that the crop varieties to be regis- tered should have some dis- tinctive characters. He moti- vated the farmers for the registration of their tradi- tional varieties and said that the farmers who conserve their local varieties through selection and preservation shall be entitled for the recognition and awards and are eligible for the registra- tion under PPV&FRA Act,2001. Dr.Suja Nabi Qureshi, sci- entist spoke on the status of plant varieties and their reg- istration by the farmers. He said that in order to acceler- ate agricultural develop- ment, it is necessary to pro- tect the farmers' rights. Dr.Arvinder Kumar stressed on the documenta- tion of the local varieties practised by the farmers. He also suggested the farmers that they should take techni- cal guidelines from KVK experts. In this programme Zarina Firoz, Sarpanch, Sham Lal, Ex-Sarpanch, Gopal Singh, Naib Sarpanch and many Panchs of the area were also present. Farmers also visited the crop cafeteria, farm, poultry unit, mushroom unit, mango orchard etc. of KVK, Reasi and were highly impressed by observing the results. As per the details, a team of Police station Hiranagar arrest- ed absconder namely Parvinder Singh, son of Shamsher Singh Singh, resident of Ward no 4 Kathua. The accused was declared absconder by JMIC Hiranagar in case vide FIR No 101/2011 under Section 420/406 RPC of Police Station Hiranagar.

STATE TIMES NEWS DODA: As part NationalDeworming campaign, theDistrict Health Society Dodaunder the guidance of ChiefMedical Officer Doda DrMushtaq Ahmed Shahorganised a series of pro-gramme at AIER PublicSchool Dod, Royal AcademyIslamia High School Ghat(Doda), EducationalInstitutions and AnganwadiCentres of the District onWednesday. The main func-tion was held at AIER SchoolDoda under the chairman-ship of Dy CMO Doda DrRakesh Bhagat.

Speaking on the occasion,Dy CMO Doda Dr Bhagatsaid that deworming is doneto cure the infected childrenand also put an end to multi-ple other causes likeanaemia, mental impair-ment, malnourishment etcwhich stimulates worm infec-

tions, adding that these con-ditions are serious threat tothe kids and can be ruinousfor the education and healthof the kids.

Similar kind of programmewas also held at RoyalAcademy Islamia HighSchool Ghat under the chair-manship of BMO Ghat DrMohammad Fareed Bhat.

Speaking on the occasion,BMO Ghat Dr MohammadFareed Bhat said that theNational Deworming Day isto be observed with an objec-tive to free children from

worm infections and todeworm them from 1-19years at Schools andAnganwadi Centres.

On this occasion, studentswere given the tablets ofAlbendazole whereas the leftout chidren if any will be cov-ered during the mop upround scheduled for 26th ofMarch 2019.

The programme wasattended by doctors, para-medical staff of HealthDepartment besides theStaff and Students of AIERPublic School Doda and

Royal Academy Islamia HighSchool Ghat.

STATE TIMES NEWS KISHTWAR: Jammu andKashmir Campaign &Election ManagementCommittee, Member andFormer Minister, GhulamMohammad Saroori onWednesday demanded threemonth free ration for snowbound areas of Chenab regionviz Doda, Kishtwar andRamban Districts.

Saroori in a statement saidthat due to heavy snowfall inlast two months, the agricul-ture, horticulture and otherbiannual crops suffered mas-sive damages. He said thatseveral houses and Shelters ofpoor people living in remoteareas also got damaged andrequired immediate relief andcompensation.

He has urged upon the gov-ernment to order issuance ofthree month free ration to thepeople of Chenab region as per

the past practice wherein suc-cessive Congress governmentsprovide relief to the peoplewho suffered losses to agricul-ture, horticulture, live stokesdue to drought of adverseweather condition like snowtsunami, floods added thatUPA Chairperson SoniaGandhi along with the thenPrime Minister Dr.Manmohan Singh personallyvisited the snowbound areas ofKashmir, Bhaderwah andeven Marwah following mas-sive snowfall in 2005.

STATE TIMES NEWS REASI: Krishi VigyanKendra (KVK), Reasi ofSher-e-Kashmir Universityof Agricultural Sciences andTechnology of Jammu(SKUAST-J) organised anawareness-cum-training pro-gramme on Protection ofPlant Varieties and FarmersRight Act (PPV&FRA) onWednesday at KVK, Reasicampus which was attendedby a large number of farmersof the area.

The programme was inau-gurated by I/C, Sr.Scientist-cum-Head of KVK, Reasi,Dr.Banarsi Lal. In the inau-gural session he welcomedthe participants and gave adetailed view on protectionof plant varieties and farm-ers right act,2001.

Dr.Sanjay Kaushal, scien-tist said the farmers that the

crop varieties to be regis-tered should have some dis-tinctive characters. He moti-vated the farmers for theregistration of their tradi-tional varieties and said thatthe farmers who conservetheir local varieties throughselection and preservationshall be entitled for therecognition and awards andare eligible for the registra-tion under PPV&FRAAct,2001.

Dr.Suja Nabi Qureshi, sci-entist spoke on the status ofplant varieties and their reg-istration by the farmers. Hesaid that in order to acceler-ate agricultural develop-ment, it is necessary to pro-tect the farmers' rights.

Dr.Arvinder Kumarstressed on the documenta-tion of the local varietiespractised by the farmers. He

also suggested the farmersthat they should take techni-cal guidelines from KVKexperts. In this programmeZarina Firoz, Sarpanch,Sham Lal, Ex-Sarpanch,Gopal Singh, Naib Sarpanchand many Panchs of thearea were also present.

Farmers also visited thecrop cafeteria, farm, poultryunit, mushroom unit, mangoorchard etc. of KVK, Reasiand were highly impressedby observing the results.
