About the North Idaho Fair & RodeoThe Kootenai County Fairgrounds, host of North Idaho Fair & Rodeo, sits in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, the second

largest metropolitan area in the entire state. The facility is located 30 miles east of Spokane, Washington with a combined region-wide population of 590,617 people (2010 census). Coeur d’Alene is a lakeside community, largely supported by the tour-ism industry, with a consistently growing population.

The North Idaho Fair & Rodeo is a five day, five county event nearly 90 years strong, steeped in the tradition of family, ser-vice, and community partnerships. Each year, approximately 70,000 patrons enjoy all that the Fair has to offer – which is a lot. Our guests experience the thrills on the midway, excite-ment in the arena, great entertainment, loyal vendors, and Fair food favorites.

As a sponsor or vendor of the North Idaho Fair & Rodeo, your organization has the opportunity to not only be a part of this tradition, but to reach a diverse and receptive audience. We invite you to look over the benefits of partnering with the Fair, one of our community’s biggest and brightest annual celebrations. Keep in mind that the sponsorship benefits can be customized to fit your expectations and maximize overall exposure.

Join UsWe are so excited to invite you to participate as a sponsor or vendor of the 2013 North Idaho Fair & Rodeo. With this year’s theme of “Everything Under the Sun”, it is our hope to showcase not only the many offer-ings of the Fair, but the diversity in our community. As a longstanding event in North Idaho, the Fair is a reflection of our region and the many businesses, organizations and groups that call here home.

Whether it is the smell of elephant ears and cotton candy that brings people here or the bright lights of the carnival and the sounds of your favorite local band, the Fair has something for everyone. Our dedicated patrons hold that nostalgic connection to the Fair close, making for a very healthy record of return attend-ees. This is also true with our vendors and sponsors – we are proud to have very little turnover in those who we partner with and who support the event annually.

2013 is a year of growth and change for our Fair – and we sure hope you will be a part of it!

-Linda Rider, Chair of the Board of Directors and Dane Dugan, General Manager

Motocross – Wednesday & Thursday, August 21 & 22Since 1988, Motion Sports has brought the excitement of motocross racing to the North Idaho Fair & Ro-deo. Motocross is a form of off-road motorcycle rac-ing that features a standing start, right and left turns and jumps on a closed dirt circuit over natural, outdoor

terrain. Originating in Europe shortly after World War II, the sport rapidly gained a large following in the United States. The event provides an opportunity for local riders to compete and, with the help of our local motocross sponsors, Motion Sports and the Fair Board, a pro purse is secured.

PRCA Rodeo – Friday, Saturday & Sunday, August 23, 24 & 25The Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association Rodeo at the North Idaho Fair is presented at three performances

in the Main Arena. Attendees get the full rodeo expe-rience complete with trick riders, bullfighters, bronc riders and more! In 2012 the North Idaho Fair’s rodeo was named the Small Rodeo of the Year in the Columbia River Circuit and received the Women’s Pro-Rodeo Association’s Justin Best Footing Award for the most improved rodeo.

Draft Horse Show & Pull – Friday, August 23The draft horse show and pull is reminiscent of the old days when horses did the majority of

work pulling wagons and moving equipment before engines. Divided into light and heavy-weight classes, the horses pull sleds that weigh 600 pounds and carry a minimum of 1,500 pounds of concrete. There is also a log skid timed event where drivers weave their teams through a course of cones. This show is a fun and traditional Fair entertainment must see!

Demolition Derby – Sunday, August 25Start your engines! This automotive sporting event fea-tures cars purchased and built for the sole

purpose of intentionally destroying them. The con-cept is simple: you buy an old, American-made hard top car, totally gut it, chain the doors shut, put on a helmet and ram the car into other participants. The event ends when only one car is left running.

Main Grandstand Arena EntertainmentThe Fairground’s 2200+ seat Grandstand is filled regularly throughout the run of the Fair with a wide variety of entertainment, including two nights of motocross, three PRCA rodeo performances, a draft horse show and pull and a demolition derby. Covered reserved seating for most arena events is $5 and bleacher seating is free.

Kootenai Village/Family Fun Park Stage – Magician Adam The GreatAdam is a professional and experi-enced entertainer with the chops to deliver above and beyond what you expect from a magician. The cliché “not another cheesy boring trick guy” does not apply here. With over

thousands of performances worldwide, Adam the Great’s swanky attire, contagious humor and ‘wow’ magic tricks are always a hit. See Adam on the Family Fun Park Stage in Kootenai Village – be ready for a magical adventure that will keep you guessing! He joins us from his home in Portland, Oregon.

Clubhouse Stage – ShinerShiner’s mission to “Bring the party, BE the party” exudes throughout every el-ement of their on-your-feet

performance. Whether it’s taking a step back into the 70s, 80s or 90s – or, jamming to some of today’s top hits, Shiner will be nonstop energy and fun. Enjoy some local flavor from this Spokane based talent! Shiner will be the post-performance band during both nights of motocross and will be on the main stage the remainder of the Fair.

Blue Gate Beer Garden Stage – Pat CoastPat Coast is a Northwest native and has been a serious student of blues guitar for most of his life. Although proficient in many genres, including rock

and roots rock, R&B, funk, country and acoustic finger style guitar. Pat’s first love remains blues, which he began learn-ing at age 14 with some old T-Bone Walker and B.B. King records. His pursuit of music has taken him many places, from three and a half straight years of touring five western states and western Canada, to living in and gigging around Los Angeles and San Diego, to do session work. He cur-rently lives with his wife in Post Falls.

Various Stage Entertainment – John DunniganIf Jimmy Buffet, James Taylor and John Prine were joined together in some bizarre musical cloning ex-periment, the outcome would be John Dunnigan. This “offbeat” musician and entertainer took the backroads to Whitefish, Montana over three de-

cades ago and never left. Today he performs throughout the Northwest at bierstubes, corporate events, weddings, schools, fairs and festive brouhahas of every conceivable kind. His original, often hilarious songs make you think, laugh, sing along and raise your glass in a toast to life.

StagesWith a variety of entertainment and stages across the grounds, you can literally see and experience everything under the sun!

Being a long time sponsor of the North Idaho Fair & Rodeo I can say that it has been one of the best investments from both a corporate and per-sonal perspective that we have been involved in. The positive exposure for our business, the friends we have made, and the fun we have had are just a few of the many benefits we have enjoyed. I often tell other businesses that “This is the best return on your investment you will ever find”. We continue to be excited about the future of the North Idaho Fair and the new plans they have.
