CHABAD INTOWN CASE STATEMENT

TODAY

IMPACT

Chabad Intown first opened its doors in 1997 with the commitment to provide meaningful Jewish experiences, education and renewal opportunities for Jewish men, women and children regardless of their level of awareness, affiliation or spiritual inclination. With this mission at the core of our programming, we have steadily grown over time to best accommodate the needs of the Intown community. From our humble beginnings into the present day, this expansion has been remarkable, and we have proudly touched the lives of over 3000 children and adults. Currently, Chabad Intown’s offerings are extensive and include a Mommy and Me, Preschool, Hebrew School, an array of Courses and Lectures for adults, Prayer Services, and various Holiday and Special Events throughout the year.

The current staff – consisting of two rabbis and twelve additional members – is charged with a variety of tasks and assignments that often fall outside their realm of expertise. Far too often, the rabbis are faced with the challenges of the technical details of running the organization as well as generating the necessary funding to sustain the organization. It is our hope that over time, the rabbis will be able to focus on their individual talents while members of the community assume volunteer positions to help actualize the organization’s goals.

Chabad Intown’s future is bright, and we envision a strongly empowered community where each individual can participate in a leadership manner in growing their talents and joining in our efforts of making a difference in the lives of those in our community. Our ultimate goal is to create a partnership with the community, such that individuals feel that they are actively involved, that their presence is both appreciated and meaningful.

Our growth and success has placed us at a new crossroads that requires an unprecedented undertaking and will determine our future within the Intown community. A new pool of financial resources is crucial to sustaining our current level of programming and actualizing our vision for the future. Chabad Intown has the power to impact the lives of generations to come, and we cannot fulfill this vision without your support. We challenge you to make a personal sacrifice to renew this invaluable community resource and secure its future impact.

In order to sustain the stability that we have been able to achieve these past nine months it is critical that we increase monthly contributions by $5,000 per month. This in addition to the cuts we have made in our budget, better governance of the organization and establishing a five year vision plan (see insert). Your contribution of $18 per month or $1800 per month will assist us in ensuring that our focus will be on our purpose and not on the necessary fundraising, administrative and technical tasks. This in turn will sustain and increase the stability that we desperately need to solidify our foundation upon which we will grow during the coming five years.
