Inaugural Club Meeting
Date: Tuesday 11 May
Time: 7:00pm
Location: Megan’s Place, Strathfield
I held my first workshop/club meeting as a demonstrator. The preparations before
hand were hectic and although I had completed 1 make and take, the second
make and take was compiled the night before. I also made some colourful flowersusing the sweet treat cups and “A Little Treat” stamp set, finished off with some
ribbon.
Apart from a minor spill of water, the night went well and we got to use the Big
Shot with Manhattan Flower impressions folder as well as the new Cottage Wall
DSP and Cottage Garden stamp set.
I was so busy demonstrating and helping out I forgot to take photos of the club
On Saturday 8 May 2010, I drove up to Point Clare, with a friend, Maria, to join
my other friend, Sue and her sister, Leonie and her husband, Brad, run a card stall
at the Fairhaven Markets.
We have combined our efforts and are selling our wares. Most of our cards aremade using Stampin' Up products.
It was a lovely day and being the day before Mother's Day, there was a good turn-
out and we made a few sales out of our Mother's Day products.
The next market day is in August, so look out for it next time your in the area.

Clear-Mount Rubber Stamps
Enjoy the same high-quality rubber and foam you’ve grown to love on the wood-
mount stamps in a new clear-mount rubber stamp option!.
Each of the clear-mount rubber stamp sets come in a handy storage case about the size of a standard DVD case—which makes storing stamps on your existing shelves even easier.
Rubber images cling to the inside of the case for easy block sizing.
Nine different sizes of clear blocks are available individually or as a bundle. Blocks have
ergonomic grooves on all four sides for easy gripping.
You can use large clear blocks to create collages or spell words with alphabet sets.
Tight die-cutting allows for easy image positioning.
Optional image labels on stamp backs let you decide if you want to see the image through
the block or not.
Stamps and blocks are durable and easy to clean with Stampin’ Scrub and Stampin’ Mist.
Of course, the classic wood-mount stamps are not going away, so you can choose
between traditional wood-mount stamps and the new clear-mount stamps. No
matter your preference, you know you are always getting the same great quality.
Christmas in July
Now is the time to start working on those Christmas cards, so that when December
comes around, you’ve already got all your cards made and all you need to do is
post them out.
For our second Club SUM, I went to work creating Top Note Character Boxes (see
photo) which I had seen on a website by Renee Van Stralen. If you want to learnhow to make these boxes, let me know and I can tailor a class to suit or you can
purchase the precut materials and instructions in a pack for $5.
I also cased another project from Renee called “Snowman Soup”, which I thought
fitted our theme of Christmas in July. I hope my workshop participants enjoy the
“Soup”. After completing the project I realised maybe I should have got my work-
shop participants to do the project themselves.
Looking for projects to make in the meeting, I’ve come across some wonderful
websites by other demonstrators and a bagful of ideas for future classes and
workshops.
