7B/PECHORA/SNR-125/PR/01/06-11 Qty-07 (1st & 2nd line servicing requirement)
TV optical tracker used in Pechora (MGR) is comprised of the following components:
(a) Optical section (Optical head)
(b) Light to signal converter (vidicon tube)
(c) Video channel
(d) Signal to light converter (picture tube )
(e) Scanning devices &
(f) Synchronizing device
COMPOSITION OF TV OPTICAL TRACKER
FUNCTION OF THE ITEM
To enhance the operational capability of Pechora (MGR) under anti radiation missile attack and EW environment, Pechora MGR has been provided with facility for optical tracking of the target.
LOCATION ON THE MAJOR ASSEMBLY
TV camera is located on the YHB post And
display units in the cabin.
ROLE IT PLAYS
TV optical system is intended for observations of remote objects and determination of their angular co-ordinates. There are two types of CC TV namely 9 Sha 33 A and 9 Sha 38-1 used in Pechora MGR. 9 Sha 38-1 TV optical tracking system is also used in OSA-AK & SPAGU weapon system of Army.
LOAD IT TAKES
220 V±5%, 400Hz±2.5%±27V±10%
Power Consumption:-
Max 450VA for 220V 400Hz mainsMax 200W for 27V mains
THE EFFECTS OF ITS FAILURE
During Anti Radiation Missile attack and EW environment the target can not be tracked without the help of TV system.
ASPECTS THAT MAKE IT NON-FEASIBLE/COMPLEX OR DIFFICULT
FOR INDIGENISATION
Adaptability to the existing Radar system and availability of a system which has night/ IR capability and limitations of tracking range.
TECHNICAL AND FUNCTIONAL SPECIFICATIONS
SL No
CHARACTERISTICS SPECIFICATIONS REMARKS
a. Temperature range:- -40 deg C to + 50 deg C
b. Relative humidity 95 to 98 % at a temperature of +20 deg C ± 2 deg C
c. Field of vision angle Narrow - 1°27’ x 1°5’ Area covered in space will be 1°27’x 1°5’
Wide - 4°50’ x 3°38’
Area covered in space will be 4°50’ x 3°38’
d. Vertical resolution At centre – 500 lines
At corner – 450 lines
It is a distinction between rasters in the test chart at centre which is 500 lines and at corner 450 lines to give a clear display

CHARACTERISTICS SPECIFICATIONS REMARKS
e. Horizontal resolution At centre – 600 linesAt corner – 500 lines
It is a distinction between rasters in the test chart at centre ,which is 600 lines and at corner 500 lines to give a clear display
f. Warm up time 03 minutes It is to provide sufficient warming up time after application of filament voltages to vidicon and CRT before the application of high voltages at their respective electrodes and thus increase the life of vidicon and CRT

Mechanical adjustment for TV allignment
l. Supply voltage 220 v ± 5% , 400 Hz ± 2.5 %± 27 V ± 10%
m.
Power consumption Max 450 VA for 220 V 400HzMax 200 W for 27 V mains
LIMITATIONS
TV camera can not be operated during night due to its limitations which affects the operational capability of the squadron during night in case under ARM attack and EW environment.
FEATURES TO BE IMPROVED
(a) Existing Range and field of vision ofangle needs to be improved.(b) Resolution needs to be improved.
(c) Night operation facility needs to be incorporated. (d) Operating temperature range, relative
humidity and continuous operation limit should be at least as per existing system.
FUTURE REQUIREMENTS
If night operation facility can be successfully incorporated, the complete Pechora & OSA-KA fleet will require the new system. Considering the number of FUs of Pechora and OSA-AK, the requirement may be 50 No.s of cameras.
