District Structure

The district governor team – including the district governor, first vice district governor, and second vice district governor – is the core of district leadership.

The district governor, first vice district governor, and second vice district governor are really members of a relay team.

Each year, the district governor provides leadership with the support of his/her vice district governors. At the beginning of each Lions year, the baton is passed to the next member of the team.

13

Tasks are delegated and dispersed, resulting in more effective district administration/leadership

Opportunities for vice district governors to gain experience

Continuity in district administration from year-to-year

Fosters a collaborative, supportive team environment

14

Teamwork leads to better results!

15

There’s so much to do as district governor. How am I going to

handle all of the club visits this year?

I have an idea!

My first vice district governor can visit the clubs that are experiencing membership and retention challenges.

My second vice district governor can visit clubs that have requested more information leadership development programs and opportunities.

Then I will visit the remaining clubs!

“Teamwork is the ability to work together toward a common vision…the ability to direct individual accomplishment toward organizational objectives.  It is the fuel that allows common people to attain uncommon results.”

businessman, and philanthropist
