Really began w/the introduction of writing about 5200 yrs ago. Written record of human religious experiences and ideas. During the Middle Ages (15th century) you see many different split

off groups. The invention of the printing press was HUGE!

The 19th century saw a dramatic increase in knowledge of religious beliefs and began the spread across the world.

Organized religions emerged as a means of providing social and economic stability to large populations.

Religion has turned into a reflection of human society and cultural interaction (Social perspective)

3. Islam is a monotheistic faith that believes Muhammed is the first prophet, has a holy book called the Qu’ran (Koran), has a code of conduct called the Five Pillars, and has two holy places of Mecca and Medina.
