I have collected many quotes, jokes, and posters over the years. Some
inspirational, some just make me laugh, and others just because it makes me
think. One in particular always seems to grab my attention. “These are all our
children. We will all profit or pay for what they become.” James Baldwin.
Every time I read this I feel good about what I am doing as a teacher; Teaching
my trade, passing on my knowledge and experiences, teaching life, producing
productive members of society.
However, it is also a scary thought. I look out across at the smiling, eager faces
of my students and realize these are our future leaders. These are our future
leaders!!!! OMG! What does our future have to hold? Then I think about how
many students have passed through my program. They are out there working,
raising families, and adding to the economy. I will have to admit it makes my
chest puff out a little. I start thinking I did a pretty good job. I have kids out
there who are successful. They are making more money than I do. Driving
newer vehicles than I do. I know it was not all because of me. I am not that
conceited, right?
All of us are doing this and more. We don’t always see the reward. We
sometimes don’t get the pat on the back or the thank you that we all deserve. So
I want to take this time to thank you all for everything you do. We are preparing
our students for the future and they are proving it. They are out there justifying
our programs.
So when the world is getting you down and you feel like throwing in the towel
remember this quote. “These are all
our children. We will all profit or pay
for what they become.” James
Baldwin. Remember We are doing
our part to help our students be
successful. A big THANK YOU!!!

Campbell County High School
Automotive students are team-
ing up with Campbell County
Sheriff's Department to make a
new D.A.R.E. vehicle. We are
taking a drug seized, 1997
Dodge Magnum and putting a
wrap on it. Deputies are coming
in and working side by side with
students, sanding and prepping
the vehicle. Cindy Alley, owner
of Custom Graphix and Signs, is
donating the wrap and showing
the students how it works. Wes
Hoffman, owner of Mountain
Mobile Spray Liner, is coming in
and showing the students how
to sand and prep the vehicle. He
is also lining the bumpers and
other parts. The students will
powder coat the wheels here at
the CCHS metals lab. After the
powder coating, Cindy Alley will
dip the wheels at her busi-
ness. Another deputy is coming
in to demonstrate and install
the lights and radio systems.
This will be the second D.A.R.E.
vehicle done here at CCHS. The
third one is also in the lab being
prepped.

others and choose to lead lives free from violence, substance abuse, and other dangerous behaviors.” A Vital Mission… to Fulfill a
Vision
