Our experienceWe are involved in a wide range of
schemes, a selection of which are set out
over coming pages.
We recently helped Barratt David Wilson
Homes secure planning permission for 190
dwellings and a new community park at
Redwood Drive, Plympton. The site was
identified as informal open space in the
Adopted Plan. Through our Open Space
Assessment, we successfully argued that
there would remain an adequate amount of
open space in the ward whilst the new park
would help address existing deficiencies.

ResidentialLRM Planning are heavily involved in promoting
residential land through the development plan and
management processes. We have recently achieved
outline planning permission for 250 dwellings in
Faversham, Kent and have secured an allocation on
Winneycroft Farm, Gloucester. In addition, we are
managing numerous residential planning applications
across Southern England and Wales.

Student schemesWe successfully secured a resolution to grant planning
permission for 229 student flats in City Road in Cardiff.
Planning permission was also secured at Quintana Gate in
Exeter for 127 units. The site was significantly constrained
by listed buildings and Scheduled Ancient Monuments
adjacent, as well as falling within a Conservation Area.

CommercialWe are in the process of promoting a green
technology park to the South of the M25. The site
will provide a high quality data centre and energy to
waste technology which will regenerate an existing
business park.
Mixed useWe have secured planning permission for a mixed use
scheme within the Brecon Beacons National Park which
will regenerate a former Army Camp and responds to
the unique characteristics of the Park.
In addition, we have significant experience of promoting
land for mixed use schemes through development plans.

Application Boundary
Hook Lane - Vehicular AccessTwo vehicular access points are proposed onto Hook Lane. Where practicable the existing boundary hedge and trees are to be retained and reinforced.
High Quality HousingUp to 300 high quality homes in a mix of sizes and styles.
‘Downs View’Within the centre of the site a large area of open space is proposed for informal recreation. The existing watercourse running through the scheme (Point K) is to be realigned and a new viewing mound created for views north towards the South Downs. An existing bench with memorial dedication off Hook Lane is to be relocated and set within the Downs View open space area.
‘Sefter Meadow’To the north of the site a wide open space is provided for informal ball games, picnics and dog walking.
Northern BoundaryAlong the site’s northern boundary a green buffer (minimum 20m in width) is proposed. This will retain existing boundary hedge planting and reinforce this with new woodland planting. Existing green space to the east of the Hook Lane / Sefter Road junction is to be mirrored within the development to provide a gateway into Hook Lane from the north.
‘Hook Meadow’To the south of the site a small green provides an attractive outlook for the proposed care home, informal recreation space and ensures that development is set back from the junction of Hook Lane and Pagham Road.
Play SpaceA proposed new children’s play area with wider links to the site’s Green Infrastructure network.
Western BoundaryAlong the site’s western boundary a green buffer (minimum 20m in width) is proposed. This will retain existing boundary hedge planting and reinforce this with new woodland planting. A linear Swale / attenuation basin is proposed to run parallel to the boundary. This feature will be predominantly dry, filling to accommodate heavy rainfall events.
Pagham Road - Vehicular AccessOne vehicular access point is proposed onto Pagham Road to the south of the site.
Care HomeA proposed new care home (up to 80 beds) with south facing gardens and dedicated car parking.
Day NurseryA proposed new day nursery. Includes public realm and dedicated car parking.
Hook Lane - Pedestrian AccessDedicated pedestrian / cycle access between Hook Lane and the site provide direct access between the site’s Public Open Spaces and existing housing to the east.
The existing watercourse running through the site currently has a trapezoidal profile and geometric alignment. This watercourse is to be realigned along a meandering path and opened up to include rifles and pools, riparian planting and waterside seating.
Existing tree planting to be retained
