R AM is a kind of computer memory that temporarily stores information, improving your
systems performance. Or in other words R AM simply holds data for the processor.
Types of R AM; SD R AM, DD R , DD R 2 and DD R 3.
SD R AM(Synchronous Dynamic R andom Access Memory)
SD R AM is Single Data R ate meaning that SD R AM can accept one command and transfer one word of data per clock cycle.
Typical speeds of SD R AM are 100 and 133 MHz
DD R SD R AM:
DD R SD R AM stands for double data rate synchronous dynamic random access memory.DD R R AM transfers data twice per clock cycle, hence the name double data rate.
DD R clock speeds range between 200 MHz (DD R -200) and 400 MHz (DD R -400).DD R -200 transfers 1600 M B /s, while DD R -400 transfers 3200 M B /s.
RANDOM ACCESS MEMORY(RAM)

DD R 2 SD R AM:
DD R
2 SD R AM stands for double data rate 2 synchronous dynamic random access memory.DD R 2 is twice as fast as DD R which means twice
as much data is carried to the module for each clock cycle.
Also due to the design improvements DD R 2 consumes less power as
compared to the DD R memory.
DD R 2 speeds range between 400 MHz (DD R 2-400) and 800 MHz (DD R 2-800).
DD R 2-400 transfers 3200 M B /s. DD R 2-800 transfers 6400 M B /s.
DD R 3 SD R AM:
DD R 3 SD R AM stands for, double data rate 3 synchronous dynamic random access
memory. I n theory DD R 3 is supposed to act twice as fast as DD R 2 memories.
Thus DD R 3 speeds range between 800 MHz (DD R 3-800) and 1600 MHz (DD R 3-
1600).
DD R 3-800 transfers 6400 M B /s; DD R 3-1600 transfers 12800 M B /s.

HARD DISK
Definition: A hard disk drive (HDD) is a non-volatile, random access device for
digital data. I t features rotating rigid platters on a motor-
driven spindle within a protective enclosure. Data is magnetically read
from and written to the platter by read/write heads that float on a film of air above the platters.

BATTERY A laptop battery in new condition typically stores enough energy to run
the laptop for three to five hours, depending on the computer usage, configuration and power management settings. When the laptop is
plugged into the mains, the battery charges, whether or not the computer
is running, with the exception of some laptops.
Basically 6 Cell and 9 Cell

BATTERY TYPES
There are three different laptop battery chemistries. Nickel cadmium was the first chemistry, which was followed in time by nickel metal hydride and lithium ion battery
Nickel Cadmium (NiCad) NiCad batteries were the first rechargeable batteries for notebook computers and featured
low cost, versatility and high output current capability. NiCad batteries can be
charged rapidly and used in a wide range of products. However, they are now being designed out of notebooks in favour of the newer and higher power NiMH and Lion
batteries. Nickel Metal Hydride (NiMH)
NiMH batteries represented a significant improvement over NiCad batteries due
to improvements in cost, safety, reliability and capacity. Currently the most widely used notebook battery, the NiMH battery has only one drawback. The "memory effect" of NiMH batteries requires that they be fully discharged prior to
recharging for maximum charge effectiveness.

Lithium I on (LiON)
LiON batteries are now the most popular notebook battery because of
improvements over NiMH in the area of memory effect. I n addition, for batteries of comparable capacity, LiON batteries are generally somewhat
lighter in weight than NiMH batteries. B ecause the LiON chemistry is
the newest in the market and offers these benefits, the market price for
LiON batteries is often significantly higher than for NiMH batteries
with the same actual capacity.
