PART 1: INTODUCTION
Super Asia is engaged in producing top order home appliances in South Asia. Recognition of its achievements in quality products are manifested in the form of the ISO 9002 certification. The success tale spread well over 25 years when Super Asia produced the first washing machine of Pakistan. Later on Super Asia started producing room air coolers, gas and electric geysers.
Keeping in view the requirements and purchasing power of all the segments of the society Super Asia has introduced different washing machines to meet their demands. Super Asia has the honour to produce complete plastic body washing machine for the first time in Pakistan.
Another hallmark in quality products is introducing the double action washing technology through side and centre Plaster. In Pakistan Super Asia has not only introduced a large range of Room Air Coolers in plastic body, but in different sizes and values as well.
Super Asia, in order to maintain its superiority in producing public utility products, has introduced hot and cold, and only cold water dispenser. It was an instant success due to its design, effectiveness and affordable price amongst the consumers. Similarly the complete range of super Asia fans is of international standard. There are different sizes, colours in Ceiling, Pedestal, Bracket, Circu-matic and Exhaust Fans.
Research based products of Super Asia enjoyed a sense of superiority over similar products in the open market. The objective is, however, to offer consumers products of international quality at affordable price and this can be judge by the fact that they are being exported to Saudi Arabia, Dubai, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Myanmar from the last so many years, and their demand is growing day by day.
The success story of Super Asia is due to its chairman Haji Mohammad Yousaf while Managing Director Haji Muhammad Afzal looks after the production aspects of the factory. He has a critical approach towards the products and their prices offered by their competitors.
Haji Muhammad Ashraf, Chief Executive of Super Asia has played a leading role in the marketing aspects of the products. He is fully aware of modern trends in the International Markets.

It will not be out of place to mention the services of Mr. Faisal Afzal, Mr. Abdul Razaq, Mr. Sohail Yousaf and Mr. Umer Ashraf, that is looking after different departments of Super Asia. These four young fellows with their higher education and thriving on the experience of their seniors have produced excellent results.
Apart from looking after the affairs of factory, chairman Haji Muhammad Yousaf is equally paying his attention towards religious affairs and social work. He has constructed a Mosque; Mian Muhammad Din Trust Hospital is another example, where free medical treatment is being provided to factory workers, and the needy of nearby localities.

INTERNAL CULTURE OF SUPER ASIA
As we all know requirement of trained and experienced Professional with the desired mindset is the need of the hour for any Organization to Survive and Grow in this competitive environment.
To cope with the growing expectations of business and in order to give the organization a competitive edge to the business, Super Asia have streamlined the whole system by integrating the HR fundamentals with Information Technology and have adopted some practices unique to Super Asia.
Super Asia as a brand and a market leader in Pakistan attracts candidates in hordes and its Industry leadership status serves as a major factor in attracting employees. Therefore Super Asia has the ability to hire the best in the industry.
Once these candidates are hired, they undergo and exhaustive induction programmed for duration of 14 days under which the candidate is acquainted which each and every aspect of the organization. A thorough integration with HR & Business Processes takes place and the formulation of a KPI is done within three days of taking the candidate onboard. Customer Department/Vendor Department interaction also takes place.
Super Asia as an organization takes pride in the fact that they have the highest manpower productivity and the lowest manpower cost in comparison to the industry. Infect Super Asia is benchmarked in terms of manpower costing.
Employees are given a chance to visit Saudi Arabia for Ummrah on completion of 5 Years in Super Asia. Apart from this Super Asia also has a family ambassador programmed where a dedicated mentor goes to the workers house and talks to his family, their problems etc. and tries to make their situation better. All workers are served lunch along with the other senior employees so that no demarcation is made.
Infect lunch is first served to workers and then to the white collar employees. On the first Monday of every month the workers meet the MD and 50 workers amongst of them get awards for outstanding performance.
Besides this, there are informal clubs such as singing, games and cricket clubs which aims at de-stressing employees and building their overall personality.

MARKETING APPLIANCE DIVISION
This department is having most hardworking and talented staff that remain busy in searching new markets for its products and always initiates different production programs to satisfy its customer needs and preferences. This Marketing department has un-beatable marketing forces that on regular basis conduct market surveys in order to look into Competitors position, customer’s taste, retailers and wholesalers needs.At time when the forces feel a change in customer preferences they immediately undertake distinctive steps and make new sales plans. Such plans are forwarded to each respective department by the marketing department in order to get their requirements to make the plan successful.
PRODUCTION DEPARTMENT
Super Asia’s production department has its own distinctive qualities from one end to last end. At this department every worker has got very special in job training from the seniors and remains committed in order to accomplish the given tasks successfully either he is a part of assembling or a part of finishing section. When Research and development designs any new feature or product, production department provides required men power estimates to the company’s human resource department.
ACCOUNTS DEPARTMENT
Super Asia has a big accounts department working under the supervision of Accounts Manager Mr. Muhammad Iqbal Cheema having vast experience in the field of accounts. Accounts Department records daily transactions of both trading

and manufacturing that prepares financial statements such as Balance sheets, Income Statements, Cash Flow Statements, etc.
FINANCE DEPARTMENT
In Super Asia Finance department is working under the supervision of manager Mr. Shahid and one General Manager. This department is comprised of four sections, namely

BUDGETING SECTION:Starting with Budgeting Department that forecasts Annual Sales, Expenditures and Costs for the company after getting production estimates and Sales plans from the marketing and than tell the amount to be arranged for production in order to finance Appliances production.
GUARANTEES SECTION:Secret behind Super Asia’s success and increasing market share is its guarantees section that actively works to get every order of the company by speedily participating for the contract with the help of Tender Bonds of Guarantees.
LEASING SECTION:This section works in order to fulfill the corporate production, personnel and operational needs such as Machineries, Auto Mobiles and office equipments. It enters into the Buying Contracts always with the one who offers best terms and conditions as well as the best Internal Rate of Return to the Company.
MATERIAL PLANNING SECTION:In finance department, this is the only section that is engaged in facilitating rather entertaining the material department’s needs by arranging finances from different sources after getting material planning purchasing plans.

PACKAGING DEPARTMENT
In Super Asia packaging department take care of all safety requirements for the best delivery of goods to the customer and always do the final audit of the finalized goods before distribution.
CAREERS DEPARTMENT:Super Asia does not only take care of the internal talent rather always keep on struggling in order to chalk out and hire the best available human resources all around Pakistan by the help of its Career Department, which can be called a part of Human Resource Department but has its own separate entity in the organization.
TRADING DEPARTMENT:As trading restriction are relaxed by most of the Asian Countries, Pakistan And China have started sharing most their production surplus with each other, similarly providing each other a facility to share their production technology.As Labor and power is cheaply available in China, Super Asia has started importing Splits and Microwaves from China in order to get competitive edge over the competitors due to its price and cost effectiveness.
RESEARCHES AND DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT:A department of active and professional people, having distinctive characteristics, that always remains engaged in designing goods better than before. This department experts fully co ordinate with the marketing department and very efficiently and effectively interprets their findings for introducing new features in the same products or designing and launching new products into the markets. After interpreting plans and getting approvals it forwards the design and procedure to the production department.

PART 2
INTRODUCTION
In order to give learning into practice the idea of Internship program of six weeks or eight weeks is assigned in different esteemed organizations to BBA students. So in this regard I joined Super Asia Muhammad Din Limited to have an internship of six weeks there. A letter was issued to me from my college for the internship request and delivered the letter and my CV at Super Asia main branch G.T road Gujranwala. So I reported at Super Asia Muhammad Din Limited (Main Branch G.T Road Gujranwala). It was very good chance for me to work practically what I have learned so far. Mr. Iqbal the Account Manager of Super Asia Muhammad Din Limited (Main Branch G.T Road Gujranwala) welcomed me. He then gave me briefing about the Super Asia working and further told me about the departments of Super Asia and introduced me other staff members. All the people were very nice they welcomed me. So I started my practical training by working with the Production Department.

Production Department
Production is the functional area responsible for turning inputs into finished outputs through a series of production processes. The Production Manager is responsible for making sure that raw materials are provided and made into finished goods effectively. He or she must make sure that work is carried out smoothly, and must supervise procedures for making work more efficient and more enjoyable.
I worked in production department for 1 week. In this department I worked on diffenernt things and reports under the Mr. shameem who are the production manager of Super Asia. I worked and learned that the production of Super Asia is based on planning which decides in the annual general meeting of the company and in this meeting directors decides about the further production that how much production will require in this year then after finalizing the require production, this production plan is further divides into semi annual production plan which decides by the country manager and general manager with the help of production manager, sale manager and regional manager of different head offices of the company. Then this semi annual production plan is further sub-divide in to monthly plan on the base of availability of finance for purchasing the raw material for production
Five production sub-functions held by Super Asia
1. The production and planning department will set standards and targets for each section of the production process. The quantity and quality of products coming off a production line will be closely monitored. In businesses focusing on lean production, quality will be monitored by all employees at every stage of production, rather than at the end as is the case for businesses using a quality control approach.
2. The purchasing department will be responsible for providing the materials, components and equipment required to keep the production process running smoothly. A vital aspect of this role is ensuring stocks arrive on time and to the right quality.
3. The stores and spare department will be responsible for stocking all the necessary tools, spares, raw materials and equipment required to service the manufacturing process. Where sourcing is unreliable, buffer stocks will need to be kept and the use of computerized stock control systems helps keep stocks at a minimal but necessary level for production to continue unhindered.
4. The design and technical support team will be responsible for researching new products or modifications to existing ones, estimating costs for producing in

different quantities and by using different methods. It will also be responsible for the design and testing of new product processes and product types, together with the development of prototypes through to the final product. The technical support team may also be responsible for work study and suggestions as to how working practices can be improved.
5. The workers will be concerned with the manufacture of products. This will include the maintenance of the production line and other necessary repairs. The workers may also have responsibility for make quality product but product quality control and inspection are checked by the quality department at different stages. A key aspect of modern production is ensuring quality. The term quality means fitness for purpose i.e. a product; process or service should do exactly what is expected of it.

Marketing DepartmentIn any organization marketing department is the main nerve of the
organization. For the period of two weeks I worked in the marketing
department of (Super Asia Muhammad Din Sons ltd). This department is
concerned with different marketing strategies under MDS.
Company’s marketing executive (country manager) is Mr. Hafiz Shabbir
Ahmed who is the main marketing planner to plan and develop different
strategies for the promotion of products.
Mr. Mustajab Hussain is the regional manager working in Gujranwala; I
spent my 2 weeks internship learning period under his guidance.
The main responsibility of this department is to make an overall marketing
plan for each product under MDS, and also analyze different market
situations by monitoring the competitors and defining strategies
accordingly.
It includes the continuous improvement to meet the daily sales targets and
recovery of money according to different locations and regions to make it
compare with the annual sales plan and targets and to take corrective
actions in case of deficiency.
Another responsibility of marketing department is to make a comparison
regarding different products and prices with competitors, to analyze the
market trends and people buying behavior.
Managers of marketing department make different promotional plans to
promote various products, there is a media department working for the
marketing department to bring forward all the promotional plans by
coordination with different advertising agencies to convey the message by
using different means to capture the mass audience.

Transshipment
A company sales representative or sales executive receives the order either
by personally visit the market or through call, fax or email from the dealer.
By the request of dealer the market representative then transfer the demand
to the sales manager, manager assistant conveys the order to go down and
check the availability, go down in charge by analyzing the inventory and
using different means transfer goods to the local market or different cities
according to the dealers destination. For local city the most probable mean
of conveying goods is through vans, chand garies, rikshaws according to
the capacity and quantity of goods because the cost of shipment has an
impact on the actual cost of product so the company always recommends
the most appropriate mean of shipment to reduce the overall cost of
product.
Same pattern is used for shipping the goods in external cities. Go down in
charge after analyzing the inventory or using appropriate means like trucks,
containers for the safety and assurance of goods ship the goods over to the
destination of dealer.

Super Asia has a strong dealer’s network in different cities for the
availability of their products and to facilitate customers, along with the
dealer’s network company also facilitate customers by opening its service
centers in different cities according to the coverage of their products to
recover the complaints.

HR DepartmentIn growing companies it is becoming necessary to establish an HR department. The need of HRM arises when companies lack sufficient resources for establishment and improvement in system by the motive to increase productivity. In companies HRM is as much important as other departments. In Super Asia there is an HRM department and the manager HR is Mr. Major Zubair javaid the roles and responsibilities concerned with this department are

Enrollment of New EntrantsOne of my tasks was enrollment of forms for new entrants. There are two kinds of forms one is an English form to be filled by the educated job applicants and the other one is an Urdu form to be filled by labor.My duty was to fill that form by attaching all the requirements like 2 passport size photographs with the copy of CNIC for Urdu form with the signature of applicant.The requirements to fill English form are to fill the form with two passport size photographs with CNIC copy, copies of academic record, copies of experience certificates, two reference letters to be filled by referees, welcome letter and agreement letter with the signature of job applicant.After completing the forms I had to take those forms to the manager HR then it was his responsibility to take all the forms to the concerned director and director HR to be signed in. after this I have to take all the forms back to keep in record.
Data Entry in Computer/ Record keepingThere is software installed in computers named as power accounting my duty was to feed all the data from enrollment forms filled by the applicants into that software after assigning a code to that person.

I was also responsible to file all the forms in the concerned department’s folder.
Problems and SuggestionsAlthough there is an HR department but with my observation they are lacking in promoting that department. I found many things because one of my parts was also concerned with self performance so that using my skills and capabilities I gave them many ideas and different aspects of HRM. That what is HRM? To give them a positive response and attraction toward the promotion of HR department I brought forward my concepts in front of them to make them analyze the real importance of HRM. For this I make some HR policies and discuss many plans on HRM with the manager HR.That HRM is not only concerned with hiring and firing of employees there are many broad concepts and techniques in HR. The basic theme of HR is to hire a right person for a right job. By hiring a wrong person for the job a company could bear high losses and costs. To meet challenges and to meet market demands a company should train and motivate employees to increase their productivity. There is no training session for the employees in Super Asia. A company must have a training program for the coordination and motivation of workers and employees. Every person working in a company has some HR responsibilities to motivate others and to understand the line and staff functions. After training, a company should give different tasks to employees with any department to make their performance appraisal.
It was my 2 weeks experience in the field of HRM and I am heartily thankful to manager HR to give me this opportunity to work with him for a short period of time for long life learning. During that time I learned many things regarding HR did working with the manager HR for the Improvement of HR and also examine the practical working of companies.

This factor has introduced a lot of competition in the market. Super Asia has made immense and considerable improvements in last ten years. However, still there is a room for more improvements. Following suggestions are based on the observations and data collection;
Need to make better marketing planning Make batter Job Specification They can introduce their products in European countries. They have and opportunity to introduce new products in home as well as in
international countries. They must get more awareness about modern techniques of planning,
organization, leading and controlling. They must advertise their product through proper media because Super
Asia has a large product range but not all of them received equal attention. so Super Asia should make good advertisement for its products.
Support an incentive program that will boost employee’s productivity and loyalty.
Encouraging employees, who probably know more about their jobs than anyone else.
Practicing sound human relations and creating a work atmosphere that
promotes job satisfaction. The salary should be given according to the capability of the employee. There
should be extra incentives given to the workers who serve the company for overtime period.
Management should distribute work equally among different employees. Some of the employees are overburdened while some sections are overstaffed.
