Our Unknown Bacteria

1. Unknown Unknown (U/U): Belly button bacteria from JR Manaois

2. Known unknown: Leaf bacteria provided by Dr. Mikels

Our Investigation for Our“Unknown / Unknown”

After Gram staining the culture of the Belly ButtonBacteria and it’s colonies, we were able to determine the following:• Gram + (Purple Stain)

• Shape: Cocci

• Arrangement: Clusters

Narrowing down the “Unknown Unknown”

(Belly Button)

• All G- bacteria• All bacteria shapes other

than coccus.• All bacteria not arranged in

clusters.

After Gram staining the culture of the Belly Button Bacteria and it’s colonies, we were able to eliminate all bacteria with the following attributes

Narrowing down the “Unknown Unknown”

(Leaf)

• All G- bacteria• All bacteria shapes other

than rods.• All bacteria not arranged at

random.

After Gram staining the culture of the Leaf Bacteria and it’s colonies, we were able to eliminate all bacteria with the following attributes
