desire to contribute to the Association to contact me and we can find you a place on one of our current
Committees. The chairs of these committees would welcome and embrace new faces and fresh ideas. If there is something you feel we are missing, or feel we should be providing, again let us know and we will do our best to bring it to the table.
As I write this I am preparing to head to Monterey for the 2013 C.A.R. Winter Directors Meeting.
This is 3 full and 1 half day of meetings with fellow Executive Committee members to discuss issues pertaining to our industry and livelihood. At the end of this program, those who attended from D.A.R.
will recap the information & ideas we receive and pass along all pertinent information to our members. It gives us an opportunity to come together as a State and discuss some of the challenges and opportunities that other associations are facing.
I Challenge all of the members to make 2013 their best year ever! Remember this year’s theme “Think Big, Dream Bigger !”
Thank You to all the members, associates and contributors and who attended the Delta Association of Realtors Officers Installation dinner on 1/18. We had a full, sold out room with 160 people in attendance. I hope everyone had a good time and look forward to working with all our members this year. I think 2013 will be a very pivotal year for the Real Estate Industry. We are not just hearing about but are beginning to see the industry gain a foothold to righting itself again. There will be a lot of opportunity coming this year. Equity sales are becoming more and more frequent, (opportunity) Homeowners who had to short-sell or were foreclosed on are re-entering the market. (opportunity) and interest rates are holding at historic lows in the mid to high 3’s. (opportunity)
The point I wanted to get across for those who were not able to attend is that this is YOUR Association I am only the captain of the ship, and only for a year. I am here to navigate, but it is the members who make it function. Hopefully we’ll feel a little more like a Carnival Cruise and not so much like a freighter in 2013. I would invite anyone who has a
