This past week the manager,Janice Jacobson, Kings VarietyStore in Gooding handed outthreeIdahoCommunityFoun-dationgrantawardstolocalnon-profitorganizations. The Wendell Senior Centerreceived$2000tohelpprovidecomfortableseatingintheirnewbuildingwhichrecentlyopenedacross from the Wendell CityHall. Earlierthisyear,ashel-terbeltprojectwasstartedtohelpprotecttheCamasMedicalServicesbuildingand the emergency heli-padfromwindblowndustandsnow.Thisprojectwasstarted when Wes Fieldsexpressedconcernsandof-feredtodonatetrees. OnMondayofthisweek,IdahoPowerrepresentitive,DanOlmstead,bravedthewinter storm to present a$2000check to theCam-as Conservation District(CCD).Thisputsthefund-ingfortheshelterbeltproj-ectat87%withonly$800lefttoraise. ThemainwaterlineshavebeeninstalledtothelocationandnextspringtheCityofFairfieldwillworkonput-tinginthealteriallinestowaterahalfdozenrowsoftrees which will includedogwood,juniper,etc. DanOlmsteadsaidthiswas an unusual projectfor Idaho Power to fund.Most grant requests are
