Emara Neymour-Jackson Stars in “The Wiz”

Earlier this month, Junior, Emara Neymour-Jackson, played Dorothy in the Hawthorne Players’ musical production of “The Wiz.”

Emara is a dance major at CVPA and has been part of Ray Parks’s Advanced Dancers since

her freshman year. She has had the lead role in Central’s musical the past two years.

You always make us proud, Emara!

High School Journalism Workshop The Greater St. Louis Association of Black Journalists is

preparing for the annual workshop for high school students. The five-week program starts Sept. 11. Students will have the opportunity to work hands-on with professional journalists in

print, multimedia, broadcast, PR and photojournalism, as well as visit colleges and earn a college scholarship.

Deadline has been extended to Aug. 29.

Jawaad Spann Jazz Music Camp Participant

Congratulations to Junior, Jawaad Spann, for raising the funds and participating in an exclu-sive jazz summer camp in Kansas City over the

summer. Jawaad is a talented saxophonist who has performed as a solo artist in many

CVPA musical performances.

Mr. Perry Molecule Farm Project

Shout out to art teacher, Mr. William Perry, and his art project, Molecule Farm. Mr. Perry

continues to be an active and successful member of the local art community.

Infinite Scholars Program College & Scholarship Fair

Our participating colleges and universities come prepared to talk about scholarships and many award admission and schol-arships on the spot. Students are asked to bring several copies of their transcripts, test scores, resumes, and letters of recom-mendation so that colleges and universities can seriously dis-

cuss their qualifications and make offers at the fair. Millions of dollars in scholarships are awarded at each fair.
