Enumerated Powers are powers given to the federal government
by the terms of the U.S. Constitution a list of items found in Article I, Section 8 of
the U.S. Constitution that set forth the authority of Congress.
Implied Powers powers not explicitly named in the
Constitution but assumed to exist due to their being necessary to implement the expressed powers that are named in Article I.
Basically more closely defines the enumerated powers
How is Power Shared?
First, We Must Ask. . .Who holds sovereign power in the United States?
THE PEOPLE!
Representation We, the people of the United States, elect
representatives who should best reflect our views as a nation and as groups.
We let these representatives express our choices
Checks and Balances Checks and Balances- counterbalancing
influences by which an organization or system is regulated, typically those ensuring that political power is not concentrated in the hands of individuals or groups.
We have this even system. . .
So This Doesn’t Happen
