SUMMER INTERNSHIP PROGRAM THE CHATHAM-SAVANNAH YOUTH FUTURES AUTHORITY IS OFFERING PAID INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES TO STUDENTS BETWEEN THE AGES OF 16 AND 19 YEARS OF AGE. STUDENTS WILL WORK UP TO 20 HOURS/WEEK IN LOCAL BUSINESSES.
STUDENTS, THIS IS WHAT YOU NEED TO DO:
Submit an employment application provided by YFA, an essay and two (2) brief letters of recommendation from non-family members before MAY 13, 2016. Applications are available from your counselor and/or are on YFA’s website at www.youthfutures.com
Be between the ages of 16 and 19 years of age, be enrolled in a local public or private high school (in good standing) or be a recent graduate of an area high school
Participate in pre-placement training provided by YFA prior to reporting to the internship assignment
Be available to train and work between June 1 – July 29, 2016 up to 20 hours/week
Arrive at the internship placement each day on time (or call if you will be late or absent)
Be dressed appropriately for the work place
Have a good attitude
Learn and obey all the rules of the work place
Perform the work assignments/responsibilities to the best of your ability
HERE IS WHAT THE YOUTH FUTURES AUTHORITY (YFA) WILL DO:
Screen/Interview, drug test, and provide up to 20 hours of “soft skills” training for students chosen to participate in the internship project
Place chosen students in area businesses for internships between June 6 and July 29, 2016
Monitor placements throughout the course of the internship
Pay interns a weekly stipend for the 8 week training/internship opportunity
Administer mid-term and post surveys to the youth to evaluate their internship experience and gauge how the experience may influence their career aspirations
Survey the internship site supervisor to gauge their level of satisfaction and suggestions to improve the internship experience from the business’ perspective

POSITION: COMPENSATION & COMPLIANCE MANAGER* DEPARTMENT: Human Resources SALARY RANGE: $55,370 - $87,476 APPLY BY: Until Filled Job Summary: Chatham County Human Resources is in the process of implementing an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system to manage its personnel transactions and employee information. This position will initially be responsible for managing the department’s implementation process through the go-live date of January 1, 2017. Thereafter, the position will assume its normal job duties of managing the department’s classification and compliance functions. As part of the ERP implementation, the position will be responsible for reviewing existing data and HR processes to determine appropriate data conversion and work flow processes for the new ERP. Works collaboratively with HR staff, Finance Department staff and the ERP Project Manager to ensure a smooth and efficient transition to the ERP system. The Compensation & Compliance Manager will be responsible for managing and maintaining the job classification system, administering the pay plan, and managing the personnel transactions process. Determines appropriate position allocations and supervises the development of class specifications; assists with implementation and monitoring of the merit appraisal pay program; ensures the completion of salary surveys and associated requests for related data from sources outside and within the County. The position is responsible for ensuring that the County is in compliance with various employment laws, including I-9 administration, FMLA, and wage and hour. Job Summary: The primary duties of the outside Sales Representative is the development,
planning, implementing and directing the sales activities all Quantum Businesses to achieve
sales objectives set forth by the VP of Operations. The Sales Representative is under the
general direction of the VP of Operations and interacts with all Quantum Supervisors to help
ensure our goals are met.
The Ideal Candidate will:
Develop and establish new accounts by organizing an organizational sales and
marketing plan including a monthly, weekly and daily work schedule that builds on
existing and potential new sales outlets.
Explore and investigate the types of potential markets, vendors and sales outlets and
develop and modify adjust the content of sales presentations.
Develop, create and submit orders by referring customers to product literature and
price lists.
Gather and analyze current marketplace trends and information on newly
introduced products, delivery schedules, pricing and merchandising techniques while
monitoring competition, product demand and product availability and modify the
marketing and sales accounts accordingly.
Investigate problems and opportunities, develop solutions and prepare reports with
recommendations for the VP of Operations to resolve customer complaints and
improve customer service.
Every six month prepare a report for management that includes an analysis of the
organization’s marketing and sales accomplishments for the past six months.
Attend educational workshops, review publications and become involved in
professional societies and networking groups.
Attends Trade shows to discern competitive environment, build sales network and
expand customer base.
Responsible for providing historical sales data by keeping an ongoing accounting of
customer inquiries and sales to include written surveys with sales analysis. Contribute to team efforts in accomplishing organizational goals set forth in the
Strategic Plan.
Requirements:
College degree preferred, but consideration will be given for equivalent work
experience depending on the level of sales work experience and the customer/vendor
network experience.
Must have a minimum of three (3) years outside sales experience.
Experience in all aspects of planning and implementing sales strategy
Technical sales skills and proven experience in customer relationship management
Knowledge of related product markets and market research
Must have experience and ability to be self-driven and accountable and achieve
stated results

Wanted Immediately – Program Assistant for Specialized Assembly
Job Summary: Assists with instruction of adults with developmental disabilities in the wiring/ structural assembly contracts. In the absence of the Program Manager, will interact with contact persons from various Quantum Specialized Assembly contracts as needed to insure that ongoing production of electrical contracts occur. Performs related work as required in Quantum Specialized Assembly, as well as assists in other Quantum businesses as needed.
The Ideal Candidate:
Will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of production, inspection, and testing of assemblies, including the paperwork for shipment as a back-up and in the absence of the Supervisor. Communicates with staff from various contracts to insure that continuous production of the electrical contracts occurs.
Is responsible for supervision of individuals served in the Specialized Assembly area.
Will provide on-going training for individuals served in work related skills and appropriate work behavior. Makes contact as needed with support personnel as necessary to insure the safety of all individuals in the QSA area.
Will be responsible for assisting in the quality control of work being performed in Specialized Assembly to include inspecting, testing, and signing off on the quality of products manufactured for customers according to contract specifications.
Will assist individuals served with identification and correction of problems identified with assemblies for which they are responsible and takes appropriate measures to correct production errors.
Under supervisor’s direction is responsible for assisting with the production of electrical, thermocouple, and structural assemblies.
Will perform an inventory of parts and supplies to insure that the contracts run smoothly. Communicates any projected shortages to the QSA manager so that reorder can take place in a timely manner.
Will to able to develop familiarity with all electrical assemblies and develops the ability to read diagrams for accurate production.
Responsible for maintaining timely documentation for individuals served according to funder’s standards. Assists with timely submission of production paperwork as required by customer.
Requirements:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience: Experience in working with people who have developmental disabilities
preferred.
Knowledge of: Must have knowledge of small wiring sub-assembly equipment
operation.
Skill at: Stripping, crimping, and construction of wiring harnesses.
Working Conditions: Will work inside moving around a room to perform quality
inspections of wiring assemblies. Visual inspection of small wiring assemblies
and computer work required. Also required to use a computer to perform documentation
and various production paperwork.
Equipment Operation: Ability to operate various hand tools to include strippers,
crimpers, and spot welders.
Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift 50 lbs and stand for long periods of time.
Must have excellent visual acuity to perform small wiring assembly quality inspections.
Effective verbal, written, and auditory communication skills.
